I wouldn't say anyone is "mad" but it is disappointing to miss out on a player that's easily a good rotation player at the guard position (which we need) for the cost of a 2nd, not to mention Canadian that would likely be very easy to retain long term if we so desired.

Why would NO give him up for just a second rounder if he would be a good rotation player on a playoff roster? Do we think Griffin didn't do his due diligence and test the market for him? If the Raptors were lottery bound I'd like the addition but I'm sure they are looking for someone more reliable.

The fanbase needs to keep perspective in check.

Fact is....the recent clicking of our starting 5 has been a revelation. Very few on this board saw it coming. I've been one of the more optimistic fans and i didnt see this coming either.

This recent clicking of the starting 5 has been a bigger, more significant development than any deadline move is likely to be.

So if you were a fred hater or a pascal hater or a pro-tanker....you've got to admit to having a bit of egg on your face. To pivot from hating on our players to suddenly hating on our deadline moves is pretty shameless.

If you were wrong...and moat of us were....then have a bit of humility and don't jump at the chance to adopt a new hater narrative. Credibility becomes an issue if you do.

Chill. This season has become a revelation. Our future is among the top 5 in the league. Chill. A deadline move can also backfire y'know....

Dame does not want to play with simmons lol. Why would he, and simmons is best at PG. Dame would be out the door is all the blazers could do is get him
simmons for all that they had . Now if Dame got Harden that might make him stay to try it.

Agreed. Raptors likely have something agreed upon at this point in principle.

Hopefully but likely a add on from the buy out market is the best the team would see.

Running out of big trade partners.

No one wants a 40+ mil contract of westbrook
Don't discount the stupidity of the knicks. Also his contract ends next year. Those Fournier and walker deals are horrible too

yup. Westbrook only has one more year after this. Fournier still has multiple years on his deal.

You have contradicted yourself. The very fact that people realise how good our starters are now is the same reason they want bench help for them. No one is saying trade starters for a star.

This team deserves bench help and a dragic contract should be able to get them that.

honestly everyone is in better standing if this trade goes down.

1.5 years of Westbrook and randle is a hell of a lot better than 4 years of randle and fournier.

Even westbrook can save face by getting the terrible knicks to be "sorta ok" to "not quite mediocre."

NAW sucks guys lol. He's a combo guard who is low IQ with the ball in his hands, plays zero defense and is inefficient from everywhere on the court

I'm kind of over the idea of the raps doing anything significant. If they stand pat I'm honestly cool with it. I don't wanna tinker with the starting 5.

Do you really think that management isn't working the lines and pursuing the best possible deals? Toronto has arguably the best front office in the league and it'd be laughable to assume that they aren't.

NAW sucks dude... he is not a good rotation player.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Pivoting from the narrative: "our starting 5 is crap. Our PG is crap. Pascal is overated and we have no talent" to the new narrative you outlined is revealing of a lack of credibility and humility.

Thats my point.

You think Griffin knows anything about asset management?!

This is the same guy who let Lonzo walk for absolutely NOTHING (I could stop right there with the argument about his ability to valuate assets and win) then instead dulled out money to Devonte Graham lol and also passed on Garland (yes the same kid who just made the ASG) for the very person he just gave up (NAW) for a SRP and left with garbage (wannabe yesteryear DeAndre Jordan) in Jackson Hayes....yeah I don't care about Griffin's assessment of talent. He's as big of a hack in the league as there is.

I never said they aren’t. But sometimes you can get greedy and miss out. Its great to be hard to deal with but you dont want to be too staunch in your position for extras in a deal and miss out. We have had that happen to us last deadline and in the past. We lost Serge and Gasol and Green and got nothing for them.

Return to Toronto Raptors
