Value is good for Utah but Naw doesn’t seem like he will be in the playoff rotation unless his play really improves down the stretch. Thought they would target more vet type provider here.

Re: [Woj] Jazz (NAW/Juancho)/Spurs (Sato+)/Blazers(Ingles+)
Definitely not the deal I thought Utah would end up going with but prices for quality players has been wild and kinda high. I think everyone ends up doing decent though I certainly don't love it for Portland.
I'm a little surprised Memphis didn't try to insert themselves into the Spurs role with Culver. Not that Culver is great, but he is young and maybe slightly more useful than Juan though if you have to count on either of those two you are likely in trouble. Maybe Utah wanted the size of Juan? I think the point of the Sato/Juan swap was purely to save the Jazz some money and Culver would have saved them a little bit more.

Seems like Portland making moves for the sake of making moves as opposed to making moves that make sense. Nickeil Alexander-Walker is only 23. I doubt whoever they get with that 2nd round pick is going to be better. The Blazers gave up 3 first round picks for Covington and Nance so it's not like we have a large amount of elite young talent on the roster. And even if the Blazers sign some superstar (or trade apparently a bunch of 2nd round picks for a superstar) to pair with Dame, you still have to have 14 players on the roster.
I don't have a cool avatar image because Dame came home.

ehhh... there's a legitimate chance that Hughes ends up the better player+ you get a 2nd, and $3.2M moew in cap space.
Portland is clearly clearing out for MASSIVE capspace next year and piling up low money assets. We'll see how it all works out, but NAW kinda sucks.

Portland also is pretty clearly not valuing guys that are just here to score. NAW isnt helping in any area other than inefficiently taking usage. They want glue guys to surround Dame, Ant and whomever they score in FA (Or using TPE / Bledsoe / picks).
And if they cant score someone, they are in a great position to implode it all. Its all or nothing, finally.

I get it. If Cronin turns out to be Pat Riley 2.0, then this will be amazing. If Cronin ends up whiffing on Chandler Parsons and throws 2x market value at Evan Turner, then this whole experiment is as ridiculous as it currently looks.

They really can't keep Simons and Nurkic and still have meaningful space. After this move, they would need to move on from Hart and Winslow, dump Bled's 4m, renounce Ingles bird rights, and then they are at 60m in salaries+holds, but also with 39m in holds for Simons and Nurk, giving them 20m in space with those holds. That also doesn't factor in draft picks. And that team would be:
Dame/(Simons)
Keon
Little/Didi
Brown
(Nurk)

Re: [Woj] Jazz (NAW/Juancho)/Spurs (Sato+)/Blazers(Ingles+)
Blazers have gotten 1 first rounder for Powell, CJ, Roco and Nance combined. Yikes.
I get cap space, but they could waive Bledsoe. With Cap holds of Nurkic and Simons they still only are going to have 20 Million or so in true cap space. I guess you could not pick up Hart option, but you might as well flip him now if that is the case.
Is Simons, Dame, Hart, Nurkic and some free agent/trade really better around Dame than what they had?
Likely their pick won't convey this year so they won't even be able to trade their own first until 2025 right?
Maybe they will get Randle or Tobias Harris this offseason with all that cap space.

Capspace isn't just for signing FAs contrary to everyone here's belief.

While I don't think the Blazers have made any stunningly great moves. I think that's a bit of a disingenuous take. Depending on how the organization values guys.
The Blazers have gotten a potential lottery pick, 3 2nd rounders, Josh Hart, and Keon Johnson who was the 21st pick just this last year. Not great, but there's more actual non-cap-space value here then you're letting on.

I wish I was on Utah, I could hit 3 three pointers and the fans would accept me as up and coming role player haha. Can we stop talking about Elijah Hughes like he is some sort of asset? Dude has 1 career game in double figure scoring and shots 41/35 from field averaging 3.1 pts. He probably is outta the league before he ever plays 100 games.
I'm not a fan of NAW, but Elijah Hughes would buy everyone of his own top shot cards if he had 1 game as good as NAW's average game haha

Ingles will never play for the Blazers. Bledsoe will be waived and stretched. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nurkic gone by tomorrow's deadline and/or Hart.

Hughes is still mostly unknown... NAW is known terribad. It doesn't really matter who ends up better.. they're both not rotation players on a good team.

Seems pretty good for Portland, and really good for SA. I think it's okay for my Jazz?
I am pretty unfamiliar with Juancho's game, is he any good? Seems like a tweener, is he okay on D? Or is he just salary filler?

I think the Jazz are going to make another move, probably trading Clarkson and Gay (unless this first trade is amended so the Jazz can trade Hernangomez). The Rudy Gay-at-the-5 thing hasn't worked.

Yeah, I think the Jazz needed to add warm bodies, and both these guys are that, at least. Ideally you don't have to have either of them see the floor during the playoffs, but there's a chance you might be able to throw one of them in the deep end of have them tread water for a few valuable minutes.
Real tough to add a genuine playoff rotation guy without much in the way of assets to give, but you can at least take a flier on guys who might be able to play.

Spurs win this minor trade considering they basically netted an extra 2nd rounder for nothing. Bryn Forbes has essentially turned into Satoransky and two 2nd rounders. Not a bad return at all for a guy on a 1 year 4M deal
Honestly never got to see Junacho play enough to form an opinion. Hope he can stick in Utah

Elijah Hughes looked ready for minutes in Utah. I'm sure NAW is probably better right now, but if he's just going to be your 8th man, do you care that much? I think they'd rather have a cheap player who can contribute 10 minutes a game than NAW.
