Ugh not Patty. However I think this is a decent haul for that fat loser.

True, though he usually does of most players. Ben's spoken well of Pop, too, so there's mutual respect there at least.

And with today's trade, Sato+Thad is about $25M worth of expiring contracts.

It'll be an interesting however many hours left to the trade deadline.

Not gonna hold my breath  but then again Spurs never make trades and have made 3 in the last 6 months. Perhaps they can get in as a third team to help facilitate.

Well we never really needed to make anything but peripheral ones at best given the core. Last season Pop said we rarely do trade deadline deals; recently, he said it's a stressful time for players closer to the deadline and it's tough on coaches to deliver the news.

We're also overstocked on guards again.

So maybe something? Or not lol

I guess we'll see!

Where are you getting this from? From all accounts Simmons is good with a number of teams, no “forcing to nets”?

simmons doesnt care abt bkn lol. all he cares is paychecks and living as a socialite. bkn is not even a title contender how can you say this when they got destroyed 28-2 the other day?

James Harden forcing himself to another preferred destination after a season and a half with Brooklyn. I say good for him, but he must rebuild his image, and legacy with Philly, or whatever team he plays for next.

Ever since Seth left Dallas (by request) the plan was for him stay with Doc. That's why Philly has been reluctant to trade him.

they didnt consider harden's delcine and age. and yeah curry is a lot better he is worth a lot of picks.
my final offer is simmons and green. not trading a dime more maybe maxey thats it. curry and thybulle are untouchable unless they take tobias harris toxic contract.

nets should really do something like harden and harris for simmons, harris, thybulle, curry. they are a win now next 2 yrs is their last run cap should not be an issue.

Interesting. I wonder if there's a touch of bitterness and a desire for revenge on the part of Marks demanding Curry in return? What better way to get back at Morey than to engender ill will between him and Doc by trading Doc's son-in-law and by extension daughter to Brooklyn.

Absolutely. If Simmons was playing, I actually think the Nets would have to throw something in (though I admittedly very low on Harden (especially going forward)).

Okay. Thanks for being honest.

I just feel like Harden is getting older, he seems to be missing more games, he doesn't seem that interested in being in super shape, the game has somewhat caught on to his free throw baiting antics, and he's going to make over $40M a year going into his mid-30s.

Honestly, if the Nets get more than Simmons and Curry, I think it'll be an absolute steal for them. Especially given that I think Simmons could be a great fit with Kyrie and KD.

It also puts Harden in the hands that have been a coddling buffer his entire career. If there's an executive that would advocate for a player to get the max he seeks it's Morey. They have wanted a reconciliation for a long while now.

I agree that given Harden's shape and poor D effort, he's signaling beyond out of shape and hamstring issues he wants out. And that Simmons is the versatile player the Nets could use. It's not like scoring is an issue for the Nets; defense is.

If the Nets are trying to win this year then I wouldn't trade Harden to the Sixers. Harden on the Sixers means the Nets lose to the Sixers in the playoffs.

I understand the Nets are struggling but doing this is a lateral move at best at least for this season. If Harden walks next year the Nets are fine with Irving and Durant as the main pieces anyway.

First off, imagine this trade not happening because Morey negotiates like a jerk again and starts digging in about Thybulle, and second, wasting this entire year. This will happen tomorrow with exactly what BRK ended at or Morey is an idiot. Morey isn't "winning" this trade or fleecing anyone because he needs it.

I would dump Seth happily for Harden. For as great as he has been for us, he's a liability on defense and it just cannot be ignored. Trae and Huerter targeted him relentlessly in last years playoffs.

That's one of the things I admired from that Bucks team last year. There was just no defensive weakpoints, and most of the time they had like 3 or more walking defensively elite players on the floor that also weren't offensive liabilities (staring at you Matisse Thybulle).

Seth has been a warrior and has burdened the offensive load much more than I ever could have anticipated since arriving in Philadelphia, but if he can be used in a package to get James Harden it's a no-brainer for me. I also can't see Morey letting Doc's relationship stop him from making a deal including Seth Curry whatsoever. The holdup I could see is more over Marks insisting on one of Maxey or Thybulle and Morey not being willing.

I’m still trying to figure out how Simmons, Curry, Drummond and Thybulle is so offensive to Morey and the Sixers faithful. They’d still have Maxey, Embiid, Green, Harris, Korkmaz, Niang, Bassey, Reed, Joe, can still make a trade and the buy out market to fill in the gaps.

If Harden wanted to stay, he'd just come out and say that.

Pretty much every basketball reporter is saying he wants out and the teams have been talking.

It feels for real this time. The stuff from Woj is likely just damage control.
