Morey really should get fired if he doesn’t trade Ben by the deadline, stop wasting everybody’s time

If Harden wanted to stay, he'd just come out and say that.

Pretty much every basketball reporter is saying he wants out and the teams have been talking.

It feels for real this time. The stuff from Woj is likely just damage control.

Both teams want the opposing teams player. The issue is they're in the same division and competing for the East. Neither team wants to risk improving the other team more than they improve themselves.

Which is why, IMO, nothing gets done. However, I still believe the 76ers have more leverage. Harden is old, fat and declining. I'm not giving them Thybulle, Curry and Drummond + Simmons for Harden and whoever. That trade makes the Nets better than Philly.

Doesn't have to be. He's under contract with another team and that's all that matters.

The Sixers best defense is that Kyrie did most of tampering in terms of Harden wanting out.

Is he going to use the same tactics he used with Houston :) No team will ever win championship with him where he's one of the main guys on the team , he's the habitual quitter.

The deal can get done with only three pieces, two from the Sixers and one from the Nets. The Nets are being sour obstructionists.

Such an extremely short sighted comment. With Simmons they easily could have been 28-3

Sixers should really pull the trigger. Except for Maxey/Embiid, everyone else on the team should be up for trade for Harden. Portland has the cap space to sign Harden out right and pair him with Dame.

I have one inside source on the Sixers. It's not a great source, but its someone who does hear about this on occasion. This individual says that there is not a whole lot going on in terms of actual conversation between the teams. Mostly a lot of bluster from the press. This is like the Superbowl for NBA Tweet Reporters so they need to make sure they are seen and heard very loudly - the truth be damned

Then good luck wasting another year of Embiid's prime.

I'm fine waiting till the off season to sign and trade Harden. There is no incentive to move now.

Durant's prime is ticking too buddy. And it's ticking faster than Embiid's.

Durants prime is wasted with another year of Harden?

Where are you getting this from? From all accounts Simmons is good with a number of teams, no “forcing to nets”?

You are delusional if you think Simmons doesn't want to live in NYC and play on a contender. Hes not going to be happy on Orlando or Detroit.

Of course the Nets are a contender with Durant and Simmons.

Really bringing up how the Nets played without their ENTIRE starting lineup?

How would any team do without their 5 best players?

Before KD went we were 2nd in the East.

Man as a Heat fan I'll be devastated if this trade happens tomorrow. You'd have two teams that would imo go from underdogs to favorites vs Miami overnight

Maybe, that’s the whole premise of all these rumors. If Harden sleepwalks through the PO and is salty about still being on the team, that’s dealing KD a tough hand given that Kyrie is already playing PT.

I don’t think it’s gone that far, though, and doubt that the Nets really think the risk of that is greater than the risk of integrating Simmons (plus letting go the upside of Harden being his best self).

That seems to be the driving motive behind all trade negotiations these days. GMs don't want to lose a trade by trading away too much or by simply making the other team better.

I don't think there is any shot of a better outcome trying to integrate Simmons at this point in the season.

For the Nets to succeed with Simmons they need full time Kyrie.
