That's the part people don't understand.
I don't think its don't understand. Naturally we all have different ideas on young players. And people tend to be high on the young players on their own team and thus honestly expect Detroit fans to see them as valuable. And unless a young player has shown out we mostly are skeptical of young players on other teams so they don't seem particularly valuable to Detroit.
And I think most posters think Detroit values Grant more than maybe any other team. So while teams would like to trade for him, they aren't willing to pay the make us trade him price because while many of us see him at $20M as fairly paid and on a big extension as overpaid, Detroit appears to think that idea is just fine if a team doesn't blow them away.
And almost every fanbase understands this concept. Take Dallas. Brunson and DFS in rumors. I understand their contract status means they won't return much in trade. So I have no interest in trading them for a heavily protected first . I realize that's the value but its not compelling.
The thing with Detroit is they look years away so naturally some think paying Grant huge money to be the vet leader isn't the best idea. But Weaver feels differently.
But just because posters here aren't lining up to meet the high price the Pistons seem to be asking doesn;t mean we don't understand. We just think Weaver values him higher than we would. And higher than we think other teams ultimately will.
