No way OKC should do this. That's 68 millions for 2 FRPs, put us over the tax next season and we can't do it wrong with Westbrook and not play him.

It's $52m if you count Favors leaving.. You took on more with Kemba.

Kemba tacked on about 58M after buyout. Even before buyout it was around 78M. However, Horford was guaranteed 41M. So no they didn't take on more if you count horford's outgoing salary.

Haha I did not.. Wall for Westbrook swap is the simplest move.

Rockets either know Westbrook is easier to buyout or they are getting a asset to help.

Wow, Westbrook being bought out is so interesting. Who even signs him?

I would guess at Knicks or Wizards. But don't really know. It would be in the offseason.

Bazley and Westbrook to Houston
Wall, 2 1sts to OKC
Favors and Harris to LAL
TPE to 76ers

Houston gets an easier buyout
OKC adds two firsts without the Westbrook back to OKC drama
Lakers find a way to add talent
76ers start the process of signing James Harden

They could trade Ben Simmons to the Spurs for their 1st then use Jaden Springer to dump Furkan Korkmaz. They would have a top 10 pick, Embiid, Curry, Green, Thybulle, Niang, Maxey, Harden

Why would the Spurs do that? If whoever they draft with their pick is willing to shoot the ball, they're already more valuable than Simmons.

Maybe that Bulls 1st or a future 1st, but definitely not our 1st this season which is looking like a top 5 pick

I would love for SA to help facilitate this by absorbing Simmons into our capsapce in the summer

Wojnarowski pointed to the Portland Trail Blazers as having interest in acquiring Grant, although they may not have enough assets.

They definitely have the assets, I think, with the Pels pick, Little, Keon, and Simons. I think the question is whether they would include those. They can't trade their own pick, I think, because it could convey to CHI next year.

I think Woj knows more than you and me, if he is saying they may not have enough assets, I'll trust that.

I mean, Portland has Dame so that in itself says that they have the assets. 1st, 4 2nds, Ant, Little, Keon, Nurk. They have more than enough to acquire Grant.

Portland just isn’t willing to give the assets Det wants.

yeah money nailed it. When you read any Woj tweet that isn't him breaking news, its literally a press release on behalf of a team or agent. Always. And its transparent as hell in his wording.

I get why the Detroit fan wants to believe a team doesn't have enough assets for a Pistons player as he hopes for the biggest return possible as we all would. But its not that they don't have enough assets as clearly they do for a player like Grant. It's having ones they are willing to give that match what Detroit wants.

But there are very few players that almost every team couldn't pull together the value for if they wanted and Grant definitely is not on that list.

Not exactly trade-related, but I am grateful every day the Raptors did not trade Pascal Siakam.

I don't think its don't understand. Naturally we all have different ideas on young players. And people tend to be high on the young players on their own team and thus honestly expect Detroit fans to see them as valuable. And unless a young player has shown out we mostly are skeptical of young players on other teams so they don't seem particularly valuable to Detroit.

And I think most posters think Detroit values Grant more than maybe any other team. So while teams would like to trade for him, they aren't willing to pay the make us trade him price because while many of us see him at $20M as fairly paid and on a big extension as overpaid, Detroit appears to think that idea is just fine if a team doesn't blow them away.

And almost every fanbase understands this concept. Take Dallas. Brunson and DFS in rumors. I understand their contract status means they won't return much in trade. So I have no interest in trading them for a heavily protected first . I realize that's the value but its not compelling.

The thing with Detroit is they look years away so naturally some think paying Grant huge money to be the vet leader isn't the best idea. But Weaver feels differently.

But just because posters here aren't lining up to meet the high price the Pistons seem to be asking doesn;t mean we don't understand. We just think Weaver values him higher than we would. And higher than we think other teams ultimately will.

I think the Spurs being one of the teams who would take Tobias Harris makes sense. McDermott for Harris gets the Spurs a much better forward for 23M extra and if Simmons is dealt to Detroit or another team with space the Sixers can sign Harden outright even with McDermott's cap hit which they can use in a deal when he's close to expiring.

I'm getting desperate.

Can the Lakers trade Lebron to OKC for SGA and Lu Dort?

Why for OKC? They benefit greatly in terms of media exposure... and will get more televised games. Then they'll have the Lebron-Bronny duo to look forward to too.

There is no world in which OKC goes “all-in” while trading SGA at the same time.

Does anyone honestly believe
a) the Lakers are getting off Westbrook without attaching the '27 first
b) Any team is going to trade for Harris without getting substantial assets on top
The 6ers aren't opening enough cap space to sign Harden. It's simply not happening.
It's like people think the teams with cap space this off season are going to shelve their plans to take on Harris for a 1st. It's not happening without significant assets because all teams, and there is only a few with cap space, know what they have to do.

Reddish, Alec, Noel for dragic and a pick.

THT doesn't have value.

I'm starting to wonder if there's more to the story with Reddish, or if the Knicks prefer the Lakers first, but I have to agree the fit is questionable for the Raptors.

THT is underrated on here. He has more value than you might expect, just depends on the team.
