im not even joking dude sabonis-fox combo might be the most dangerous one at least offensively one two punch.
they are just so dominant i thought they were kobe and shaq. they make lebron-ad duo like laughable.

i will prove to hali fans why kings never lost. the bulls gm gave up 4frps equivalent for a washed up vucevic. and hali got sabonis and pretty much a frp for getting rid of hield. even if sabonis value equaled vucevic you literally robed the bank unless you think hali is really 5frps which he is not. sabonis is several times better than vuc he is closer to jokic. if sabonis replaced vucevic, the bulls would be a dynasty team.

As I said earlier in the thread, I think it's a fair trade.

Pacers going for a complete rebuild so nice to have a great young prospect in Haliburton.

Kings will always find it hard to sign all stars so why not trade for one that's under contract for a few more seasons?

The NBA media hating on the Kings is as predictable as can be. JJ redick said it was malpractice on the kings behalf. Bill Simmons said Haliburton could be the 2nd best player on a championship team. I really like Haliburton, but come on, the man has legit done nothing so far and is still probably 2-3 years away from doing so.

I agree he's an awkward 3pt shooter but he only really started shooting 3s year before last, before that he was at 1 attempt or fewer per game. He's been at 32% the last two years on that bigger volume and, while he might be stuck there a) just ticking that up a few % points to like 35% sounds pretty sweet and b) 32% is still passable even if not, if the point is just to have him be capable of spacing the floor when needed. Wouldn't count on that being a big weapon of his ever though.

I'd agree with you if there was any improvement from his rookie year when he played stretch PF for OKC. And he's actually shooting worse this year from 10-16 feet, and 16 feet to the 3 point line. There just hasn't been improvement anywhere there.

I think we're both saying about the same thing so we can probably let it lie, but I'm not convinced by the rookie year stuff you keep bringing up. It was a long time ago to begin with, but more importantly he shot 39% overall from the field and 66% from the stripe that year--compared with 55ish% from the field and 74ish% from the strip since then. So he was clearly having a rough transition that he quickly figured out, doesn't feel fair to measure his current shooting by that. (Also it looks like this year's midrange #'s are based on super low volume--18 total shots 15 ft to 3--so seems like he's almost cut the midragne entirely out in favor of 3s).

Overall, I dunno, his FT stroke and some of his midrange #s some seasons are pretty okay so I could see him becoming passable on open jumpers. I also don't think it'll ever be a big thing for him (and it shouldn't have to be if he gets to play to his strengths in SAC).

You're comparing his FG% then to now, which I'm not. Just 3 point to 3 point. Of course his FG% struggled his rookie year, he was taking 34% of his total shots from the 3. He only took 28% of his shots from 0-3 feet, compared to 50% every year since. That's just a function of the shots he was asked to take.

My point is he still hasn't improved from the 3 point line or anywhere beyond 10 feet since his rookie year. He's actually regressed. That's not a quality sign that a guy can just go work on it and suddenly be a threat. I'm sure has has worked on it. At this point I think he is what he is. Every year he has streaks where he will go weeks without hitting a 3.

I'm happy.

All my friends, kings reddit, this board, everyone told me we traded away an elite playmaker. And maybe he will get there one day.

Tonight the team had 32 assists. 7 players with 3+ assists. 3 players with 5+.

The ball movement is going to be better.

Haliburton is going to be a good player. There is no doubt. But the kings got the best player and dumped the worst salary. Meanwhile everyone acted like we traded prime cp3 for Greg Monroe.

I will be rooting for haliburton, fan favorite always. But go kings!

The state of ESPN right now:

I get that it's part of Walt Disney, and inevitably entertainment is going to come first, but this is just comically bad.

Sac won this trade by a mile. Haliburton is solid but he doesn't have a Sabonis ceiling. Kings have a complete team.. they aren't deep but they are solid at every position except 2. This also allows Fox is get back to being comfortable leading the team vs sharing the point role.. excellent trade

Great debut by Sabonis. He's Jokic-lite in a sense.

The Kings should surround him with defensive wings and play him at the 5, spreading the floor.

At the moment they have the 7th worst record; if they decide to tank (which I think will happen somewhere down the line) and get Chet, they are set.

I didn’t see Kings fans bashing Sabonis. Everyone knows he is a upper tier player. If you want to ignore age, contract, position, other options, direction, etc., etc. ok. That’s what Kings fans were talking about. Of course they’ll love Sabonis, guy is a stud that plays hard. Kings fan love players that play hard.

Kings fans overrated Haliburton. Hell the national media did yesterday and today.

Maybe one day he will get there. Right now he wasn't making anyone around him better. And for an elite playmaker that's pretty rough.

I've been consistent about him. One of my favorite guys, but he wasn't leading us to a ship, the reaction yesterday was as if we traded young steph curry away.

I told you yesterday. I just like you had high emotions, you will come around.

Just noticed how lopsided this poll was.

Casuals really think Hali is on the same level as Sabonis?

Come around to what?

I’ve wanted Sabonis this whole time.

McNair simply shouldn’t have used Hali. That’s it. Keep Hali. Figure it out. There is some number of firsts Indy would have taken and the Kings have lots of options to acquire firsts.

I find it painful to listen to Kings fans talk about how they kept all their firsts. Great! More late lotto picks!!

This is silly and has been refuted by guys around the organization.

If you are crushed trading haliburton how do you think Monte felt? The guy who spent everyday with him and drafted him. Lol

If you don't think he tried to offer any combo of mitchell, multiple 1sts you are fooling yourself and just looking for a reason to be mad.

You wanted all star sabonis, the answer was fox. So sick of kings fans making this a fox or hali or picks argument.

Man I used to like Jalen too. He is awful though. I'm the president of the Hali fan club. He was getting DNPs in Sacramento. Like WTF.
Oh Sabonis is expiring contract. WTF
And they traded Buddy Hield...BUDDY HIELD!

I wish Jalen & Jacoby were GMs in Milwaukee or something because we would have been able to get that scrub Giannis with this package.

Here’s a good rule for GM’ing…don’t trade 21 yr old Hali.

Not a bad debut for the big bottle of Dom.
22/14/5
The 4 turnovers were some sloppy mistakes at the start, but overall it was great. Holiday is going to be a useful defender (had a rough night shooting).

Get used to Ox2Fox (trademark on the username)

Now let's wait for Hali's debut so we can all blow things out of proportion again LOL. Oh and the flamethrower.
