My only glimmer of hope is that this front office doesn't really leak a lot of stuff and trades will come in. All of these media report is BS because no one saw a lot of it coming right?!

I wouldn’t chase either one, I would just accept the fact this is extremely likely to be a late lotto team and go compete and let the chips fall where they may
that's kinda what the Knicks have always done and it hasn't worked
it's not too late. if they went on a fire-sale and actually sold Randle, Burks, Fournier etc. they'd be able to push themselves up 2-4 spots in the tank standings
It feels too late. It’s not like we are winning a lot with those guys as it is. 538 says we will finish 36-46 which is tied for 9th. At 8th they have the spurs at 32-50 4 games back from us. We have already won 24 games, and for all we know getting rid of those guys helps us win even more. We do have a tough schedule. But we are really talking about battling for one pick position. When for all we know the team behind us wins the lottery anyway because Knicks
I think trading Randle would really help the tank. w/o him, we wouldn't have much shot creation. and we still have the 5th toughest SOS remaining. Pelicans and Kings are trying to win. Blazers should get Dame back too

So you’re saying there’s an 84% chance none of that happens and we get our late lotto pick
There’s a 100% chance that being delusional, irresponsible, and incompetent will lead to even mOaR failure for the Dolan organization.
Keep on keeping on with the 3.5% chance of the 8 seed “win now” strategy. Been working wonders for 21 years now.
You want to recruit real players and be a non-laughing stock? Try doing the f*cking normal/non-self-destructive thing for once.
The normal non self destructive thing being what, blowing up your team all so you can move up 1 position in the lottery and then fall back 2 spots on lottery night like we do every year
That’s a bit dramatic don’t you think? Can’t tell if you’re trolling or serious, but I’ll try to be honest and calm:
“Normal” would look something like shutting down. benching or trading all veteran role players for the final 27 games.

At the end of the day it’s all just going to come down to luck. Maybe this will be the year but I’m not going to get my hopes up. Even if we don’t win there are always good players available late lotto and we never seem to get one. Maybe they do their job and scout and take the right player this time? We could have Donovan Mitchell, Adebayo, SGA, Haliburton etc. even with the failed tanks
You know the sad thing is that even if this team did by some miracle win the lottery they would trade the pick in a package for lillard or something like that

yep, "blowing up" the team means playing all the young players which is what we should do so we can see what they can do....and it's what a lot of fans want
and sure, maybe we only move up 1 or 2 spots, but if that's what finally lands us in the top 4 and gets us a star, it'd be worth it

Your post seemed way more dramatic I mean you were dropping f bombs over it? I just pointed out what always seems to happen
I can already tell lottery night is going to be a fun one

How many years have the Knicks fought for a couple more late season wins at the expense of lottery odds?
Those extra few wins are not dramatic in an individual year, but over the course of a decade? It’s franchise suicide.
Shut down the vets, play the kids, and for F*cksake Thibs stop drawing up ISO Randle every time down. If we move up a spot or two in the lottery it might just be the difference between drafting 3rd, 4th, or 5th instead of 8, 9, and 10 again. There’s nothing Alec Burks, Evan Fournier, Nerlens Noel or Kemba Walker can accomplish from here on out more valuable than that.

Here's the JD & The Sling Shots listening experience in real time:Spoiler:
For a minute I thought he was ripping off the melody of Two of Us by The Beatles.
Listened closely a few times because even comparing Dolan's music to a Beatles song well outside their top 20 is disgusting.
Turns out I was wrong. The song is just terrible on its own. It's a hodgepodge of music he likes, a full band, and embarrassing lyrics.
Sell the Knicks Jim!! You can go
feeel the air blow your hair you don't caree

Unfortunately, I think you are correct. This front office is way too incompetent to pull off even the simplest of all trades.

This man paid musicians in his band to pretend he’s a good singer just like he pays executives to be yes men.

It’s true. I can’t believe I’m a Knicks and Jets fan. Two completely cursed franchises. Not to mention the Rangers and the Mets who are perennially pretty crummy too.
I dunno.

If nothing happens today, you already know we’re going to finish the season on a 4-5 game winning streak.

I thought we couldn't combine Cam Reddish w/ any other salary
also bad look to trade for a player, proceed not to play said player, and then sell him for a loss a few weeks later

I think maybe you get around it by structuring it as 2 separate trades.

would you trade Randle to Portland for Bledsoe and 1 of their 2022 1st rounders?
Bledsoe has 1yr remaining at ~19.5M
Bledsoe has 1yr remaining at ~19.5M

I'm for it. Losing Cam is a waste especially since we didn't even get to see what he could be on this team but getting rid of Burks and Noel while getting Dragic's expiring along with multiple picks that should net at least a 1st is a win. Helps reset some of the mistakes of this off-season while also freeing up some playing time for the young guys. Also leaves Fournier and Randle's deals to strike a bigger deal in the off-season. It's a step back to take another swing at it.
