You just know that Leon and his cronies are going to sit there and say that Randle just lead us to our first playoff in 7 years, averaged 24-11-6 and was 2nd Team ALL NBA. If Sabonis can net Tyrese, then Randle can do the same if not better.

This is not taking into account that Sabonis:

-Is two years younger
-His contract is much less of a financial burden ($19 million to $28 million)
-He appears to be a better teammate and easier to coach with a much better attitude
-Other worldly more efficient (64.6% TS to 51.4%)
-More unselfish with less of a “I gotta get mine” mentality
-Puts up the same, if not better numbers than Randle yet his usage rate is 22% compared to Randles 27.5%

If people really believe we could have received Halliburton for Randle-IQ-2023 Unprotected 1st and 2 Seconds that’s fine. But I don’t see that as something Kings leadership would ever have accepted.

Do you (in your personal opinion) think there's any trade package the Kings would've accepted, regardless of whether or not you think it'd have been worth it?

Yes I do actually:

Incoming: Halliburton and Buddy Hield

Outgoing: Randle-IQ-Grimes-Knicks Unprotected 2022 1st, Knicks Unprotected 2024 1st, 2 Seconds, Pick Swap 2026

Not sure if salaries match up, but I believe there was a way to get this done without adding RJ.

Cam can't be traded with another player so I don't see what's going on here.

With all the money they had, maybe it would have been better to sign two or MAYBE three younger, better players and fill out the roster with drafted players and G-league garbage.

At least then, when it was time to deal, the "Assets" would be Randle, RJ, Obi, IQ, Grimes, McBride, Player X, Player Y, Player Z. with players 10-17 various G-League fodder.

My guess is Kings owner was fixated on Sabonis. These decisions are not as clear cut as who had the best package

It would have to be two deals. The rumor about adding Nunn sounds like that would be the second deal straight up for Cam.

Sabonis is a two-time all star - and he comes off as an extremely polished, talented ball distributor. He may not be ultimately effective in that role but he looks like he should be effective.

I've come to hate him as associated with Thibs and all the "win now" vets.

He's a great guy.
Great NYC guy
Does great things in the city

Get him and Thibs and Rose and Noel and Burks and Fournier and Walker the f*ck off my team.

God bless Taj, but they could have paid a couple of G-League guys with a little promise that money.

For all of the bad shots Cam appears to take that can be cleaned up. The only thing I really question is that his motor seems poor at times.

Having said that, we don’t have anyone at his size and length at the SF position. You can picture him intercepting the passing lanes and creating deflections/steals because of it. You traded a Top 18 protected 1st (that would have converted to 2 seconds) just play the guy. He absolutely has talent and while we say that far too often, a good franchise/coaching department should be able to bring the best out of him.

As soon as I say to not discuss this front office they get involved in things that are beyond comprehension.

Lol imagine trading a young prospect you traded a 1st for less than a month ago to the desperate Lakers for a player in Nunn who curved you in the summer for them. Just for the Lakers to either have a young wing with potential on a team with Lebron building trade value in the summer that’s going to exceed THT.

Honestly I don’t see how Lakers can make a move. They don’t have a single favorable contract outside the veteran minimums. No half promising young players. Their one pick is 5 years in the future.

Harden is bad news and I'm thrilled that the Nets mortgaged their future to get him.

Yeah but it's a good salary dump. Noel + Burks gone off our books and Dragic is expiring as well.

I would do this deal in a heart beat.

I want to see Cam play more as a small ball 4 next to RJ. Would love to finally put some small, quick, spread lineups around RJ and Mitch. Open up the floor for them like almost every other team in the league though...Thibs will never do that though. We gotta have 2 rim rolling bigs on the floor at all times next to RJ

If we were offering RJ than Halliburton would be getting ready to play tonight in Golden State.

Personally I wouldn’t have included RJ in a trade package for Tyrese. But I would have highly considered the package I presented. I wouldn’t feel great about it, because it’s as STEEP a price as you’ll pay for a 2nd year player. But I could sell myself on the idea that Cam could step into Grimes role and McBride could step into IQs role. The 2 unprotected 1sts are killer but what can do you.

Halliburton-RJ-Reddish-Obi-Mitch

I wouldn’t miss a minute of any game.
