Can’t sign with Chicago because he was traded, right?

Ahhhh ding ding ding. Same thing with Goran and us. Did see the Suns wanting Thaddy. Either way the buyout market is a gamble unless the Heat absolutely know Thad wants to come here. Because after Thad the market looks bare.

Grant Could reach another level in our system IMO, he was overqualified as the 5th option in Denver, and was under qualified as the first option In Detroit.

Here he can find a sweet spot as the second/third option, play aggressive but not overdo it.

Grant also learns from Jimmy and take pressure off of him, we'll have 2 strong interchangeable big wings that can really defend up and down, score and while Jimmy is the better passer while Grant is the better shooter.

I'm all on board the Grant train, guy will be a game changer here. He's Jimmy 0.8.

And If I had to - I'd give the suggest Duncan + Yurt + Morris + 2 picks.

Yea we can’t sit on our hands and do nothing. We’d be wasting an opportunity in a wide open league. I mean worst case we know Marcus Morris wants to be here. He’s better than Duncan at everything, seems like an easy decision there

Watching PJW last night and he looked like a lost pup in desperate need of some Heat Culture and guidance. The Hornets don't look good at all. Too much rogue play and the players looked like they have tuned out Borrego. PJW is a lot more talented then what he's gotten to show so far in his young career with the Hornets. He's one player worth gambling on for us to turn around much like how Caleb Martin was apparently getting wasted away with the Hornets.

I just don't know if the team is ready to move Duncan right now. Maybe in the offseason depending how things pan out. I think the most low risk play is going after PJW and looking to sign another G League big to fill the void left by Yurt.

Agreed, it's money time. No point holding back, we're deep into WIN NOW mode, and there's an attainable player that can fit, fill a need, and could be getable without losing any key parts of current team.

Duncan + Yurt + Morris + 2 picks
For
Grant

Strus might be just as helpful in the playoffs as Duncan if he gets his minutes.
Yurnt won't play in the playoffs - no loss there
Morris is done
The picks hurt, but we've proven we can find talent elsewhere. When in win now mode, you can't worry about 2023 pick. Make the later pick lottery protected to cover our asses just in case.

Grant is young enough to be here long term. He might be the best player on the trade market looking forward.
We need to go all in on him. If things click He can be the piece that takes us over the top.

I don't think Jimmy is going to allow the Heat to trade Strus. They are like super besties

I like the idea of Grant but don't think it's feasible considering our roster situation numbers and needing to stay under the tax this year to avoid the repeater. Any 3 for one trade right now will leave this team with little to no money to fill out the roster. The team seems fully committed to PJ Tucker as the starting 4 at very least for this year. The best bet is to go after a protégé behind him such as PJW or Hachimura.

The question in this situation is being of 3 for 1, Miami would now be at 11 players out of the minimum 14, does Miami have enough to sign Martin for one of those spots and 2 minimum spots while staying under the tax?

Nope they don't unless Andy does some stupid type of cap gymnastics wizardry. This is why I always felt like Grant and Barnes were not going to be part of the trade discussion for us. Now Christian Wood on the other hand has the perfect contract to get something done with Marcus Morris Sr right behind him.

The talks about Christian Wood have gotten awfully quiet here going down to the final hour. If there was a player out there that the Heat have been discussing and has the type of contract that fits with Duncan's then he's the one.

C Omer Yurtseven
SF Duncan Robinson
PF Markieff Morris
2023 Protected first round pick

to the Rockets for

PF/C Christian Wood
SF David Nwaba

This deal works right on the number. If and when the Rockets trade Eric Gordon they have there 3 point sniper in Duncan and the Turkish towers combo of Yurt and Sengun.

I feel there will only be a minor move at the deadline while keeping our assests like the picks and Duncans contract for something in the offseason. I still have a feeling we are going for Mitchell in the offseason using Hero ,Duncan and picks
I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too frail imo. And the report that he allegedly wants to be a no. 1 option, on top of wanting an extension in the ballpark of 30 million a year just spells trouble.

Even if Chicago has been playing well, Zach LaVine is another name to watch. Duncan Robinson ($15,650,000) and Tyler Herro ($4,004,280) together earn $19,654,280, while Zach LaVine earns $19,500,000.
