The problem with building around this core of Randle and RJ is that the Knicks made a lot of moves on the periphery that are akin to space debris orbiting the Earth.

So now they're working hard to undo some of those moves but that leaves them without the time, the assets or the brain power to address the fundamental issues of this team (now the Randle-RJ-Fournier trio of mediocrity). So they're gonna shed Burks and Noel and then sit out of some misplaced sense of accomplishment. And then probably try it again.

Trading away Burks and Noel would be a start. Not trading them would be worse.

I'm just saying it's not enough. I guess they can address the bigger issues during the offseason. Maybe. Maybe not.

I don't want to hear anyone say Leon operates in silence...we know this team wants to clear the decks for Brunson and probably to resign Mitch.

They are so obvious. I have heard from someone too before and PM'd somewhere here that the Knicks have tried desperately to get Brunson...and if they can't get him now since DAL wont trade him they will now pivot to signing him outright in offseason.

Do you know how a Rokas' signing would work? I.e. we may need cap for him too?

my guess if we are operating as a below the cap team.

Mitch's cap hold is small.

So we would sign Brunson first
Mitch would go next and we could sign him going over the cap.

then

Rokas they probably would fit in the room exception (since we would be operating as a below the cap team again).

Or he just signs as a minimum player.

He's started 36 games, how can you get that wrong too? Your other points don't even make sense, he's a better finisher at the rim than anyone on our team not named Mitch, so spare me the unathletic talk, he's an elite at rim finisher at 70%. The Mavericks seasons turned around when Brunson began starting, he is in no way similar to Fournier, who played on middling teams for most of his career and was let go by the Celtics who needed shooting. He is on the upswing, and could be a 20/7 type of player in the same vein as Brogdon and FVV, but some of you people on here swear the only PG that's worthy of being acquired are superstars. You may not have interest in him, but the Knicks do, and in this instance they are actually right to pursue him.

You're a better man than me dude. Still don't want him. Knicks have bigger fish to fry, unfortunately.

I'm definitely anti-Dame and always have been. You should be able to tell, my biggest reservation is shelling out big money, so trading for Dame's contract is definitely the last thing I want.
