If we don’t make a trade we’ll be players in the buyout market.

Harden, it has to be done. While I agree and understand the now Kawai leonard approach in using him as rental for the year. I get it and for it if it means hes out in the summer. Simmons, Curry n 1st with Thybulle rerouting to elsewhere for that team's player preferably shooter/scorer.
I just don't understand this point of view.
The locker room is **** either way. How will Simmons make it better? The guy is a nut job.
Golden State in 2019 was also a lockeroom disaster. We have seen talent succeed regardless of the circumstances.
Do you guys really think Harden is that mad that he will refuse to play for the Nets anymore?
In my view there is 0 chance the Nets win anything with part time Kyrie, Simmons and KD having to do everything.
This is our shot. We can always reset in the off season in a way that makes more sense.
Get Simmons. Fire Nash. Retool around a full time Kyrie and KD.
Doing it now makes little to no sense.
I'm far from a Simmons fan but value is value, Ben at still such a young age is a talented player in the NBA(despite his no shot crap). He's ability/inability actually fits in quite well between KD and the punk Ky. Back in philly, due to similar age and talent, both Simmons and Embiid may have had a tiff or some push n pull for who's top. Here, ain't a question, fall in line, it's KD team. That may take a lot of pressure off of Simmons. The styles of KD n KY are easier for Simmons to blend with and compliment as their approach could empower Simmons too.
Maybe I'm spinning it to be positive but it makes sense.
Golden State could not have the lockerroom malice that we are facing, who quit on their team?
Harden, if true, is literally tanking on the court. If there was any positive ship from him to the team and coaches, there would be no smoke to the Harden rumors. and per whoever, he basically is crying to get out? Who wants to play with that?
Nevertheless, Harden's actions is not to cover Kyrie's blatant sabotaging decisions nor makes up for Nash being unqualified to coach here....

As long as we get Harden back by the playoffs. And the mandate may be repealed. You have to take that chance.
Trading for Simmons with part time Kyrie ruins any chance we have to win this year.
I still fully believe we get Simmons if we wait for the off season. Philly has no other way of realistically getting cap space.
Worst case scenario is Philly finds a way to magically create the cap space. And then were left with what?
KD/Kyrie/Harris. Can resign Claxton. Bring in some new players. Its not the end of the world.
I would probably take us in a series over Philly with KD/Kyrie over Embiid/Harden anyway.
But Ben Simmons is not a deal breaker for me. And I'm not totally sold hes the right fit.
This is the best Nets team we will ever get. Go down swinging.
If the Nets win a title Harden will not leave. Mark my words.
Harden doesn't want to be here. Do you want this situation to become even more toxic than it already is?
I don't care.
The situation is supposed to be ponies and roses once we get a headcase like Ben Simmons?
This season is a mess no matter what.
Talent matters. Once Harden is in the playoffs and has Kevin Durant he will be locked in. Even hes not that stupid.
Same.
Whatever Harden feels now will be different once the trade deadline passes and we get the big 3 on the court together in the playoffs (hopefully). Like im sure once we stop a play in team or a round 1 opponent to open a series he will feel fine.

Cedric Maxwell (former celtics player, finals mvp and current celtics radio color guy) says all the day...
"you dont have to like each other to win a title, McHale and Ainge hated everyone... you just need to be talented and your games need to fit/mesh"
He is usually referring to Tatum/Brown or Smart or whatever but he isnt wrong. Kobe/Shaq, Isisah/Dumars, Mchale/Ainge... etc

I’m pretty sure KD will help guide and get the best out of Ben Simmons. Getting Thybulle or Maxey will be huge because we can put Edwards right there for length on D.
You still need to account for Simmons not having played all year, having never played with our guys, being an odd fit in general, and Nash not being the best coach from a strategy standpoint. even if it works, its unlikely to work right away

This Harden thing just looks like more posturing and gesturing prepping for an off season trade. I don't see it happening anymore.

Marks is such a failure. How do we not get Ibaka when this was the price?
Who do we have that tops DDV/Lyles/Bagley?
We dont have great pieces.

If we trade Harden, Getting Dragic would be big. we need PGs so Kyrie can spend more time at the 2

The problem is if you keep him and the situation stays toxic there is no way to win it all anyways or a very slim chance at that. Then you lose him and get back less, possibly even lose him for nothing. It also makes it more difficult to get another star to commit soon especially with the way Kyrie is being handled. If you at least have an all NBA defensive player that's 25 years old and he shows he can still play you have a flippable asset and the salary to get another star player to come if Simmons isn't the fit. You are taking a risk keeping him possibly a really big risk if he is going to torpedo the year because of it.
I disagree.
The 2nd game we had the big 3 together they curb stomped the bulls. Last year they barely played together then in the playoffs they wiped the floor with boston and were up 2-0 on the eventually champs with a 50 point blowout win in game 2.
This trio wont need alot to be dominant no matter the situation going in. All 3 of them are used to drama and criticism.

Yeah as big a mess as Ben is in Philly he is honestly amazing value for the situaiton we are in (disgurntled star wants out as a pending FA). This isnt oladipo we are getting.
Ben has value around the league if we want to flip him if not as a #3 he could be elite. Kyrie/KD are the perfect teammates for him. No one has gone through more criticism then those 2. they know how to drown out the noise. They will help him in that regard a ton

Also alleviates pressure for performing too... not that he won't have expectations but the pts on the board will be concentrated by the possible duo mentioned....
Also, if Harden is dealt and we land Simmons plus whoever, we MUST become a faster pace team to cover some offensive blemishes we have

Just throwing it out there...I think Simmons would actually be an amazing fit on Brooklyn if it ever happens. I think the added transition, defense, passing would be even better then most expect. Just my 2 cents.

The first two points are known/anticipated.
The Kyrie extension is a possible hurdle.... if he balks at the extension to ensure a trade like this etc... pissed off Ky fans(count me in) would have even more anger towards him if the deal fell apart due to that not coming thru.
