Horrible horrible trade.

I understand we couldn't get Maxey. How do you not get Thybulle?

The first round picks are USELESS. What do we need them for?

Also **** James Harden. And **** all of you who are defending him.

Hes is 1000x worse than Kyrie.

This man literally demanded a trade here. Forced us to give up all our assets.

Then KD gets injured. And he thinks its ok to just quit, fake an injury, and high tail it out of here?

Who the **** does he think he is?

He is the next Deron Williams. Worst player in Nets history.

As i said in the other thread:

Simmons/Curry + 1st is the minimal return i can stomach and not be upset. Anything beyond that moves me rapidly towards happy/excited.

Drummond to me is nuetral/negative value but the additional 1st round pick has me feeling really good about this trade. As we said all week, no one on this forum wants to extend this version of Harden for 4/215. Getting Simmons removes that huge risk down the road and also protects our pick swaps going to cleveland.

I worry quite a bit that Nash is coach. He doesnt have the offensive mind to fit Simmons in and maximize he talents. He couldnt maximize the talents of elite guys like KD and Harden, let alone a clunkier fit like Simmons. With a good coach I think you can have a dynamic setup where Ben bounces from PG/playmaker with some lineups and PF/C in other lineups. But Nash im sure will just stick him on the wing while Kyrie brings the ball up and is swarmed by extra defenders.

Curry is huge for this year with Harris being such a huge unknown. We need that spacing and Mills cant be the only role shooter.

I would be very surpised if we dont flip those 2 picks + claxton/Cam for a wing.

Getting Dragic is a must now. we need a PG on the roster besides Kyrie/Ben

well Brooklyn/Philly rivalry just got real.
Hope our day isn’t over Bruce/Nic/Carter/Cam aren’t needed. Would be nice to get a wing and/or an actual stretch five.
I accept for a fact they aren’t ever moving Joe. He’s valued only 2nd to Durant by this team. Very clear.

I'll need to read and hear more from the Nets in the coming days to understand their rationale. Unless the Nets believe that Harden has truly peaked and on the decline health wise, I'm struggling to understand how they didn't get even more (e.g. Thybulle) in the deal.

Simmons was never going to play for the Sixers again, so giving them Harden strengthens a division rival tremendously. They'll have elite offense in Harden and Embiid and their team defense should be great with Embiid and Thybulle. We all know that Harden is a good post defender as well.

This is a head scratcher for me.

The picks are not useless. we did ok, not great.

Picks could be flipped. We also gain the advantage that we are less effected by the steipen rule and can trade picks in most years now instead of only having our 2028 we could move.

Simmons | Kyrie | Curry | KD | Claxton
Mills | Bembry | Harris | Johnson | LMA or Blake

That is absolutely a team that can contend. Simmons obviously has his issues. but you rarely get a 25 year old all-star/all-nba defender.

If you look at similar trades, we did pretty well. Usually when your pending FA disgruntled star wants out, you get fleeced

We better be packaging Harris and a first or two for an additional asset.

This cannot be our complete team. Man what a joke.

I hate being a Nets fan. So much.

Love it. Would've still preferred Thybulle. Now just whip Philly in the playoffs.

the team has lost 9 games in a row. a change was in order. I feel like both team’s upgraded. I’m just curious to the mental health of Ben Simmons.

Harden didn't want to be here... Sucks, but not much you can do.

Here's to hoping Simmons bucks up and plays like he did to start his career... Also my gut says Joe is done for the year, anyone have an update?

Marks and Morey are smart GMs...

they wont let this deal go final until they suck all the value out of it. They will bring in a third team to take ancillary pieces and get the bang for their buck on the salary matching that is allowed with Harden involved.

We have alot more then we started the day with for smaller trades. We can now trade:

-3 1st round picks
-Harris
-Claxton/Brown/Milsap/Carter/Johnson
-Cam/Sharpe/Duke

If we can land Dragic in the buyout and make some smaller moves we look really great not just this year but the next few

That is a shocking one for sure, one must feel if only Kyrie got the shot and we kept Jeff Green the big 3 would still be in play.

All in all not the worst thing in the world, the Harden I've been seeing this season didn't give me full confidence he'd live up to a $200m contract for years to come, and I certainly won't miss his defense. But given this is Harden, I'd guess he'd come out for Philly playing like MVP Harden.

This is a fantastic trade.

Simmons value at an all time low. I truly don’t think you’re appreciating his defensive impact and versatility. He’s also only 25.

Curry the best sniper in the game.

Nets stacked.

We better use these first round picks to get something back.

We need more help on this team immediately.

I love the deal. i was hoping Marks would have gotten Thybulle but getting two 1st rd picks is pretty sweet.

Curry adds a much needed shooter and drummond provides another big body for us an makes Claxton or Sharpe a trade piece in a potential deal to land Grant.

Today was a win for us. Yall wanted to really hold Harden hostage after you bitched about him sucking for MONTHS? LMAO. make up your minds.

I am still underwhelmed. If we wait until the off-season, Sixers would have to give up similar package. Has Harden's situation worsened to this extent that we have to get rid of him ASAP?
