Two different things. I'd assume BnO is talking about Knicks giving up 2022 pick for Cam.

Cam slots in Knox slot this year and next. At that point, yes, it'll cost more to keep Cam over a guy picked in the 20's in 2022.
So, in 2024, yes, Cam, if retained, would cost more.

Whatever. Go pay Cam 20 million a year right now, sign Andre Miller out of retirement for 30 million dollars, trade RJ, whatever.

Knicks stocked up on #1 picks that one time in their existence. They don't do it multiple times.

That's for smart, well run franchises.

Honestly they might be able to get a first rounder relatively cheap. All those teams aren’t looking to just add multiple rookies. Especially the Grizzlies who have a young core. The problem is no one will want our assets. Knicks always have bad timing. Last year no one wanted expirings, this year they all want expirings.
