So the Celtics have Smart, Schroeder, Pritchard, and now White? I get them some of these guys can handle a few minutes at SG, but none are taller than 6-4.

I think we might see one of those first three traded.

By the way, I hate having to listen to ESPN now. There are actual trades going down, and they bring in Romona Shelburne to talk about the Lakers, who will likely do nothing!

I’m glad they sat down Screaming Stephen A Smith

What a great trade for the Celtics. Derrick White seems like an ideal player to pair with Tatum and Brown.. Can play off ball but also orchestrate the offense... I think White and Smart can play well together too.

I don't get what the Spurs are doing. What is the status of Pop? Is he influencing these decisions or does he already have one foot out the door?

Does Pop think Richardson can be K Leonard lite?

I was listening to ESPN radio via their app and it was a little better, they were at least talking about the news, but it was two hosts I have never heard of and their takes were fairly generic -- one guy spent a minute explaining why Embiid is the best player in the league, and his evidence was like three random plays from last week where he crossed over someone and slammed it home for a dunk.

The problem with all of the best analysts moving to podcasts is that they can't really break things down in real-time like broadcast professionals can

I mean is there a reality where the Celtics see Smart as redundant with White and they are now keying in on a shooter to diversify their roster?

Looks like it was a 1st, plus a pick swap. Still a good deal.

I feel bad for Pops. He doesn’t need many more wins to become the NBA’s all time winningest coach. Maybe he’s decided to stay on after this season?

Maybe this is where Gupta's lack of experience in this role hurts us... Just because we have a good trade in mind doesn't mean the other GM is willing to deal with someone they don't really know

They have to be getting a FRP in the deal as well.

He only needs six more, if I am not mistaken, so I think San Antonio gets it this year, and he probably hands the torch off to an assistant. Dude is old, he deserves to enjoy time with grandchildren.

I knew there was a FRP in the deal and that pick swap you never know.

1:38 p.m. ET: The Boston Celtics are acquiring guard Derrick White in a trade from the San Antonio Spurs, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Romeo Langford, Josh Richardson and a top-4 protected 2022 first-round pick are going to San Antonio. The Spurs will also have rights to swap first-round picks with Boston in 2028.

The problem with all these trades happening at the 11th hour is that it doesn't give teams much time to reassess the landscape. Lot of dominos are falling but not enough time to count what's happening
