Well, for those of us screaming to add a "screener", they just did. But Theis is not really good enough of an outside shooter to run the Pick & Pop and not really quick enough, leaper enough for the Pick & Roll to work against the better teams.

I always though Theis would continue to develop his 3-point shooting he actually peaked in his 2nd year with us (38.8% in 2018/19).

His 3-point shooting has been downright bad the past two years, 28% and 29%.

Schroeder was in demand by contending teams, you could have gotten a real nice piece back. To give up Schroeder, PLUS Kanter to get back a below-average rotation piece with a low-ceiling like Theis is a complete waste of the value Schroder had built.

Out of curiosity, exactly what sort of real nice piece were you expecting to get back for a point guard with half a year left on his contract, no bird (or even early bird) rights, and was playing about as well as his previous year which got him a one-year taxpayer MLE contract?

Theis was at his best here when backing up Baynes in 2017 and 2018. This is a good move by Brad getting the Celtics a viable backup for RW3. Kanter and Bruno would be unplayable in the playoffs. He is at least a threat from mid range and at least was a decent defender as long as he wasnt covering Embiid.

I hated Theis as starter. Especially having RW coming off the bench..Tristan and Daniel Theis together was nightmare..with that said Theis is an above average backup center imo.

He's gonna lead the 2nd unit,
and play with the starters as needed.

Familiarity matters with midseason acquisitions. I don't think it'll take Theis much time to acclimate himself esp if he'll only play 12-15 mpg off the bench.

6 JAGS and Richardson who has been playing better. A 1st rounder this year that they'd screw up anyways. The only asset they traded was the 2028 pick and even if the Celtics suck then the Spurs are a **** destination
