Exactly. Brunson is more of a 6th man combo guard. We'll be welcoming him in as the starting PG and pegging him as "guy that will lead us out of 2+ decades of misery". Then when that fails... Well we know how this will likely end.

Disagree with you there...I think he's under the radar like Van Fleet IMO.

He's good but he will be wasted here under this coach and with this garbage roster (i.e Randle as centerpiece).

FVV wouldn't have been and still wouldn't be the answer to what this team needs and the role/expectation that that player would be carrying. Same with Brunson. The reality is that in NY, as a Knick, with the misery of the last 20+ years and counting you can't just be really good and expect that to be enough for Knicks fans.

We are just such a sad franchise. No matter what we try it never works. Leon rose is getting paid tons of money to literally do nothing. He doesn’t even talk. The amount of people on Twitter saying they trust the FO is wild. That means you have blind faith

Wait... KP got traded for Dinwiddie/Bertans with the Mavs having to include a 2nd to get it done? Is this real or is ESPN wire lying to me?

Actually a good deal for the Wiz and wtf is Dallas thinking? The draft assets given to get KP haven't even been fulfilled yet and he's already gone! Not for a star or anything.... wooow, just wooow

This can't be true, tell me I've been duped.

It's not unexpected is the problem. Leon Rose has absolutely no experience whatsoever running an NBA franchise to begin with. Then when you factor in that we're not talking about a healthy and successful franchise that he's jumping into and instead talking about a franchise that needs an elite proven front office exec and the chances of this marriage being successful was very low. I said this when they hired Rose...just as I said it when they hired Phil Jackson. How on earth do you hire someone that has absolutely no experience for a job that is as demanding as any job could possibly be given the situation? Because they did well in another job? Would you trust an expert auto mechanic to do open heart surgery on you? Dolan is a freaking idiot and so gullible to absolutely idiotic advise from guys that any smart individual would never trust.

I think this trade deadline for us was pretty simple:
- Burks, Fournier and Walker were available to anyone willing to trade for an expiring. Nobody was willing to do that and wanted us to attached a first. We didn't think that was worth it, and rightfully so.
- Randle was available to a team willing to provide a return comensurate with something closer to who he was last season that who has been this season, and that wasn't out there. We were never dumping him for nothing.
- None of the combinations of our young players are really all that enticing when it comes to landing a star, especially with the lack of valuable salary fillers (our salary fillers are all underperforming their deals).

I don't really understand why everyone was clamoring for a deal before the deadline. This season is a throwaway and I don't see how the timing was good for us to make a big deal. It's because you're bored and you don't want to watch this same sorry lot bumble the season away, but we weren't salvaging this season today. I can't defend our offseason and what has happened since but I am really not all that hot and bothered about no deals today. You hope a few guys start playing better and in the offseason we are better prepared to deal. I overestimated this front office as trusting there was a plan to this offseason to gather a bunch of tradable players ahead of future trades. Maybe that was the plan, but the talent assessment and strategic roster construction has proven to be poor.

Yep. He didn't realize Rob Pelinka's assistant GM was Lebron James.

No single player, not even Jordan would be THE answer. Should we wait for prime Jason Kid to waltz through the door or do we get the best up and coming player that fits the bill and doesn't break the bank?

I think Van Fleet alone would have us solidly in the 4-6 spot.

Our biggest hole is at the PG spot. We all know this. Logically speaking filling that hole with an efficient, shifty, High IQ player would make all the difference on this team. It would have a synergistic affect of putting things back where they should be.

Contrary to popular belief we don't solid lack talent, we lack a rudder, pace and consistent play making. So you might look at Brunson and disregard those stats...but I think the sample size is big enough ..and I think the fact that he could produce those kind of stats while deferring to Luka bodes well for his ceiling...

You were not duped. The Mavs were though. One of our handful of small wins over the last decade.
