While I like the trade for the Nets, I just don't see this being their year to win it all. Kyrie's vaccination stance is still a giant problem. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me to see Kyrie traded as well.

I don't see it. Simmons is a headcase and they already have one with Kyrie.

It's possible, but I think a change of scenery will do Simmons some good. And Harden's got his own issues plus massive salary requirements. Harden's superstar days are behind him, Simmons' might still be in front of him.

Whether the trade helps Brooklyn enough this year I'm not so sure, but going forward I like it for them. Getting Curry plus 2 first rounders is gold and Drummond doesn't hurt for more rebounding and length, especially on a vet min expiring. But yeah, a lot of unknowns, only time will tell.

With all the trades still feels like winner of GS/Pho WCF will play the Bucks.

I think it's a win for the Nets overall. The question is when will Simmons be mentally ready and back on the court. How long will it take for him to get in game shape? Also, is vaccination an issue with him? Had seen some mention of him being unvaccinated but no explanation of why.

Yep. If Simmons went somewhere that he was again the focal offensive person, it would be bad, but with Durant and Kyrie there, it fits. The c=fact they got Curry, Drummond and 2 x 1sts, mad lolz.

Philly get stuck with the equivalent of an ageing hairy basketball hippopotamus.

I have my doubts it will really help this year. Kyrie is only eligible to play like 12 or 13 games of their remaining schedule. It's obviously going to take Simmons time to ramp up.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

NY state is lifting restrictions.

Probably about letting people go to restaurants for Valentines Day.

NYC may not be far behind, in getting rid of restrictions, including the vaccine mandate which currently prevent Kyrie from playing in NYC.

Luka with 20 of Dallas' first 24 points and 28 of their first 36 against the Clippers. He's got 7 three pointers and the first quarter isn't over yet. Who needs Porzingis?

I guess the fiction between luka and kp were true. Addition by subtraction.

Morey managed to assemble the Avengers of playoff chokers with Harden/Embiid/Doc. Am I the only one who sees them as the paper tigers they are? I'm not sure they get out of the 2nd round, doubt they sniff a title.

Morey might have actually effed up his own team's chemistry. Pre-trade, even with Simmons sitting out, I had Philly winning the East. The Heat and/or Bulls may well have been the biggest winner of the Nets/76ers trade.

I still think it was the right move. Simmons was never going to play for them again, so they had to jump at the chance to get another superstar to pair with Embiid. You never know when Embiid will start to break down physically, especially at his usage rate. They need to capitalize on his peak as soon as they possibly can.

I still don't think they are good enough to win the east though. But if your goal was a win now move then they certainly did that. Harden will really help carry the load for Embiid. They'll win in the most slow paced, whiney, foul baiting kinda way and it'll be unwatchable.
