I like Carey. Thought he was underrated in the draft.

This was a garbage trade. Sheppard redeemed himself with the Porzingis trade, but this one is pure ass.

We did get a future 2nd out of it. Apparently Ish's last year (next year) is non-guaranteed. It's the best we could do for an expiring Trez. At least he gets to play in the playoffs.

I think it's clear that Harrell wasn't exactly great in the locker room. He had the fight with KCP and then he spouts off at the recent press conference.

It’s fine. Trez was not part of our future. Maybe letting his deal expire was the better play but honestly I’m fine with the move

At least Ish won't dribble the ball for 20 seconds and throw a grenade to Kuz at the end of the shot clock.

Harrell is about to be an unrestricted free agent. If we want to retain him next year, we can still sign him in the offseason. But there was absolutely no reason to keep him. All he would do is help us win meaningless games in March and April and hurt our draft position. Heck, if we weren't able to trade him for a 2nd, I honestly would have released him. That's how important it was to get him off the team.

Far being "a garbage trade," this was a terrific trade.

I like Trez a lot. But he had no future with us. Obviously he also had no present value; he wasn't helping us do anything this season. Plus, b/c he's expiring, he also had little trade value.

Given that we traded both Dinwiddie & Holiday, we obviously needed a PG -- I'd have taken Ish straight up for Trez under the circumstances. That we also got a R2 pick plus a guy who was probably the best Center in college basketball 2 years ago -- & hasn't even turned 21 yet! -- I'd say this was a fantastic move.

Does it make us better tomorrow? No. But, it is a solid rebuilding move. I'm impressed to tell the truth.

Everything is terrific to you. Makes you wonder why the outcomes are never terrific, doesn't it? Or do you think perpetual 9th seed and play-in games are terrific too?

Trez, Kuz and sometimes Deni were the only ones worth watching this year.

I’ll forever be a Trez fan.

The thing for Trez is - he's going to get a chance to play in the playoffs - perhaps all the way to the finals. I think he - deservedly so - has a chip on his shoulder for being benched in last year's playoffs, so this will be his chance to prove his critics wrong. Otoh, Phoenix might prefer Biyumbo (sp?) when it comes down to it. Being honest, this was pretty much a worthless trade. Ish is a pro's pro, but he's not good. Carey's a poor man's Bryant - at best. And we get one of the last picks in the 2nd round. Not that I expected to get much, but all in all, very little value for a talented player.

Probably not - I don't think he's gotten it done in the G League.

Just heard this one, I heard we got Ish but didn't know for what. Gotta look into it, but my 1st impression is I like Carey, he was really good in college, he can bang inside and is skilled.

I do think it's funny we're back to Ish & Neto in the backcourt.

Seriously. No DC reporter can figure this out? This can only be judged on the details of that pick

There should be way more excitement for this.

Carey per 36 as a freshman in college:

25.7 points 12.7 rebounds 2.3 blocks 1.0 steals 61.5% TS and an 11.3 BPM.

He hasn’t even played 150 minutes in the NBA.
