Lol I never thought Jerami was an option. Apparently he chose Detroit in free agency in large part because he wanted to play for a black coach and black GM. Besides that being kinda racist, it rules out the Heat and pretty much signals that winning isn't his ultimate priority

In large part? He chose detroit because they offered him 3 years 60 million? Wht were we gonna offer? Throw the rings on the table and tell him to take the MLE?

And the move to Detroit despite what he says was for a bigger role so he could another big contract. Which is what I'd as a NBA player. Till I'm 35, my no 1 goal would be to get paid. Winning is nice but that generational wealth is better

Context is 6000 years of human history where people have been judged for race, religion, etc. Making decisions based on what someone looks likes and not by who they are (morally or professionally) is wrong then, now, and in the future.

For the limited time we had Bam and Yurt on the court, there was a very different dynamic in play. Yurt was moving on defense and mostly functional boxing out. They did get blasted from 3 like 3 times before N O adjusted and brought their big back in. Dropping Martin back in at 3 in that set very well might be the key.

On offense there is absolutely something there. They were getting their screens and still a threat in the paint.

It really is possible there is enough there on offense and defense that teams might have to adapt to match Miami going big. I think all the people that been very vocal about Bam and Yurt are right. Very well could force teams to match Miami

It was decent, only +2 but I’m going to give it like 10 games before I judge it since it’s new. If Spo even goes back to it, he obviously didn’t like what he saw from yurt in the first half. We’ll see.

The alternative to no backup 4 upgrade or Keef return is simply playing Bam at the 4 alongside Yurt. We’ll see if Spo actually does it. I’m not a fan of these continual 6’5” PF lineups.

Not sold on RHJ as the answer either tbh. Can’t shoot.

It didn't just happen. It's a reaction to reactions.

It's also the same reason why Joe Rogan just got cancelled. Colonizer-class can't say the n word.

He might want to see more black coaches, more coaches of color and this is his reaction to feeling the alienation of the struggle.

+2 was mostly on perimeter defense. I think 3 of those 5 possessions we got hit with 3s.

It was far from perfect, but there is something there.

Although not the most pressing need, getting Goran would be a huge pickup for Miami. The man is a savy creator and a big time shot maker. With the chemistry he has with this team and knowledge of our concepts, his impact will be immediate.

Gabe has improved leaps and bounds, but Gogi will optimize that second unit.

Plus, after trading for Lowry, giving him the chance to compete for a ring with the same group warms my soul. Heatlifer.
