Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
Didn’t chime in yesterday after the Direct. Mostly stoked that Advance Wars has a new release date after being delayed from December. Given that I didn’t have a ton of time for it during the holidays, this works out great for me to play it properly. The new Strikers looks great, but I still wish they made an NBA JAM/NBA Street style Mario game.
Not much else for me at the Direct, maybe Switch Sports as something casual that anyone can play. I think it was a good Direct even if I personally didn’t come away with much.
To other conversations, considering the Crono Cross Remaster announcement continues to validate the Nvidia leak, I’m all for the FFT remaster/remake. I still have yet to play a single FF game, but if I were to pick one that’d be it.

Similar to you, nothing crazy for me from Direct. I do love some Strikers, and I used to play Advanced Wars on GBA so that'll be fun.
If No Man's Sky drops in price to like $20-30 I'll pick that up too. Great game to chill and zone out on. I enjoyed Splatoon 2, but wouldn't pay full price for 3. Just not that engaging to me.

I think Splatoon 3 will be great, it’s a big deal for a lot of people. But I’m sort of with you, I didn’t play Splatoon 2 nearly as much as I thought I would. I suppose if you’re only playing on a Switch, it’s the killer online game to have, but there’s other stuff I’d rather play with my buddies on other platforms. Also, the best mode, Salmon Run, was only available on certain days which was a huge bummer.

Looking forward to their take on open world. Demon's Souls was definitely a great entry for me, but I ultimately tuckered out when I got to the -3 round of levels. Not because it was bad at all, but I think I just grew a little ho-hum to the hub world.
But this looks spectacular. That map is a thing of beauty.

I'm both fascinated and scared by this game. It looks amazing and I want to pick it up day 1, but I'm sooo bad with open world games. I'll spend 5 hours exploring, not playing any of the game, and never actually find anything of value yet I'll try to horde every single thing I find incase it's the 1 magical super rare item I'd later covet. (I have problems, I know)

Vampire Survivors is the best $3 I've spent in years. Phenomenal game.

Sounds about right, this is how I’ve been conditioned as well.

I'm obsessed. I'm gonna dream about this game tonight because it's all I've been able to pay attention to for the last seven hours.

How Early Access should be done. There's more game in this little package than there are in many AAA titles on release.

Servers getting killed on MMO launches should be expected. The problem with New World was all the development issues and spaghetti code. That game was having to disable player trading months after release because of duping bugs and stuff. Lost Ark is very unlikely to have those kind of issues since the game has been out in Korea for like 3 years already.

I mean, the servers never even went live for them to then get killed and crash. I imagine that will come once people are finally able to login.
I am very casually interested in Lost Ark - no impact to me here whatsoever. I also work in tech so I get it. But it's just a bad optics for Amazon Games no matter how you slice it.

Ah, I see now that they brought the servers down for a hotfix and there must be an issue with that. I'm at work, so I just assumed it was congestion issues since people have been playing the game on US servers for 3 days already.

Patching complete. Let the server issues begin.

Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
For a lack of better terms, I “platinumed” God of War on PC. If there were achievements tied to getting Ares and Zeus armor in NG+ I’d be tempted to start another file, but think I’m done with it for now. Really hope Ragnarok gets ported to PC eventually, because it’d suck to be stuck with only half of the duology. Leaves me with a big void to fill. Perhaps I’ll start Mass Effect Legendary Edition or just grind the ladder in Guilty Gear Strive for a bit.
