I cannot wait for Bagley. I don't think a lot of people have actually watched him play, or there would be some more excitement.

Genuine, honest to God, pick and rolls/pops coming up. Not to mention rebounding.

Should be the last game without the new guy!

I am pretty excited to see if he can put it together here. I love the trade. If he puts it together that would be a massive boost to the rebuild.

If he has a good game or even a string of good games, he hasn't shown signs of improvement because of all his previous games showing that he's the worst player in the league.
If he has a string of good games followed by a bad game, he's now regressing.

It was 100% clear the detractors hadn't seen him play when all they did was throw stats out.

i'm pretty sure the kings saw him play and actively tried to push him out of their rotation, despite a social media campaign by his agent. i'm also pretty sure that the other 28 teams in the league saw him play too and they didn't want to trade two second round picks for him. so basically the entire league has seen him play and want nothing to do with him.

i'm also fairly certain that fans here that are praising the trade haven't watched any more of bagley so... not sure what your point is. saying "he can dunk!!" is definitely less valid an argument than citing stats.

A bit of context is needed here. In Bagley's rookie season, after having been selected #2 in a killer draft, Bagley only started 4 games. For a team that had went 27-55, and had the bigman lineup of;

Willie cauley Stien
Harry Giles
Skal Labissière
Kosta Koufos
Caleb Swanigan

Not starting him every game available was inexcusable. This is the same team that hasn't made the playoffs since 2005-2006. It's absolutely unbelievable.

His rookie season was extremely promising (not his fault he was selected above Luka) and his production was very good. Speaking of stats, his per 36 numbers his rookie year?(he also missed a slew of games with knee injury played 62 games total)

Then the following year he fractured his thumb, then covid hit, then Luke Walton Happened. It all went to hell quickly.

The Kings organization is a well-known hell-hole. I am willing to give Marvin a little bit of leeway here.

As for his play, he is not a big that's going to demand the ball. He's a big that is excellent around the rim, his second and third jumps are great. He has a knack for the ball(good rebounder)and is a really good pick and roll/pop player. He is the exact style of player that will work extremely well with Cade. Cade has needed a pressure release valve and he will excel in that role. Stewart plays hard, but he can't bail Cade out with a lob, ever. He also can't go above the rim on a miss, and either smash it home, or get the offensive board, and kick it back out.

I've watched a fair share of Kings games, particularly during his rookie season. I have never understood that situation there. Never.

I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised if he gets even a modicum of playtime here to prove himself.

Yeah I mean, two 2nds is a bit steep for a guy that they likely had zero interest in re-signing and is viewed as a bust league wide. I expect him to fizzle out. BUT, there is always that small chance it clicks for him here. I can live with Weaver taking a chance on him. 2nds generally aren't hard to acquire anyway.

Everything I see shows the Kings wouldn't settle for a couple second rounders, which is why they held on to him this season.
