My sweet spot is 4 yrs 60 mil or 15/yr. He possibly might get more on the market particularly from a team like Detroit. I'd match up to 20 mil just to keep talent but would definitely feel waaaay less comfortable with it. I just wish he was a RFA instead of UFA because it makes contract negotiations so much riskier. Yessir, and players usually get a little less than what they ask, but he may ask for something different by the end of the season.

Cuban's gotta come to the realization that he'll have to pay some taxes if he wants to compete with the likes of the Suns, Warriors, Bucks, Nets, Sixers, etc..

But they can get creative and have JB's contract decline each season, and hopefully that's something they've already done with DFS. But I doubt Brunson would want those decreases, especially since he's 25. It made sense for THJ and would make sense for DFS, but Brunson's a guy that should get the increases.

Also, I think Cuban's willing to pay the tax if he can get the right player in a trade. But, one of the ways to do that is by taking yourself over the tax line in the first place. That just gives you more money to play around with in trade scenarios.

Yeah, for games like that, Dinwiddie would be pretty helpful, and Brunson would accordingly become more efficient due to slightly less playing time

And a lot of teams had big problems in this Covid year. Playoffs is something totally different. Now teams are prepared mostly for Luka in playoffs they will be prepared for Brunson too. It will be interesting test for Brunson, first time being in position as teams second best player. I hope he will deliver, if he doesn't, my guess is that his value will be hit at least a little.

Brunson is 6 foot flat but does not have the speed of a 25 year old Kemba Walker who is pretty much the same height as he is. That is why he is easy to shut down by taller defenders. Teams like the Clippers will always give Brunson a hard time.

Agreed. Brunson can easily be a fippable trade chip if he's paid moderately.
