LeBron usually has the best drafts, but I thought KD did really well this time around. It was very entertaining to watch.

Calling Greece a Balkan state is a bit of a stretch. Culturally it certainly is. And Greeks would laugh at you if you said as much.

I dont laugh at him. We're Balkans too just like we're mediterraneans.

And we never laugh towards Serbian brothers.

Does this mean we can call Mexico a North American country here in the US?

And why would they schedule the All Star draft on the same day as the trade deadline?!? From a PR standpoint, really just idiotic.
Those were my two takeaways tbh.

I always questioned why they even have games on trade deadline day. They know there is a good chance that players are plucked from rosters just hours before games. As unlikely as it is, what if so many players are traded from a team that they can't field a legal roster for a game? Forfeit? Postponement?

Though, personally I enjoyed that the all-star draft was immediately following the trade deadline. No real repercussions other than the potential drama we actually saw, which made for great TV IMO.

Isn't it though? NAFTA stood for "North American Free Trade Agreement" involving Mexico/US/Canada.

I think technically the southern portion of Mexico is where 'Central America' begins geographically, but much of the country is in North America.

I think KD was just putting on an act, making like he's all stoic. He did crack up quite a few times in this segment, I mean no one can resist laughing with the TNT crew

Or he's really just pissed about the Harden trade. Weren't there reports that he's lobbying for Harden to stay? Maybe KD's feelings of betrayal were still roiling within him during this segment.

Fake reports.

Harden and Kyrie didn't get along. And KD and Kyrie are boys. Harden was not going to break that dynamic so he decided to leave. If KD lobbied for Harden to stay, this trade never happens.

I mean I'd be kindy salty if my guy just kinda dipped on me like Harden. I'd more say he doesn't play into sh*t he's not cool with, which is good, being fake is more taxing on your health and spirit.

More like Durant came in without as concrete of strategy while Lebron had his whole clip board and was picking to win the game. Basically he knows Durant is unlikely to pick Steph and definitely not picking Harden. He knows Durant won't choose two C's in a row after taking Embiid first, because that wouldn't make sense. So why would he take Jokic early instead of choosing the better guards / wings when he knows Durant won't pick him until he gets other positions?

Then he also goes and picks the hometown guy as soon as he can, because, duh, that's a guy you want on your team to get fan support.

Being negative all the time is toxic. I’d say that is more taxing on your health and spirit. Positive emotions are contagious, so are negative ones. Guys like Lebron, Giannis, Boban etc don’t seem fake at all to me, they seem like genuinely light-hearted happy guys. And why wouldn’t you be when you’re a famous athlete getting paid millions to play the game you love. People would rather be in the presence of positive people than a curmudgeon that is “keeping it real”, life is too short to spend it that way IMO.

What are you talking about?
He's referring to a deck of cards where the Joker is the wild card.
That's Jokic's nick name.

I'm assuming the reference went way over the posters head

It's okay though, one might not be familiar with the terminology, but the assumption that it must then be some insult / disrespect is the funny part.

If it was a real game
Well, regardless of real game or not, Lebron likes to pick his rosters with the intent of winning.

Jokic wasn't picked where he was due to those things mentioned, he was picked where he was from a strategic POV. Two C options in the starting lineup, both great options, so really I wouldn't even go C first, because who cares which one I get out of those two, both awesome.

If your opponent goes C first, then you keep the other C in the pocket because you know your opponent isn't going to pick the other C too, fake game or not. Lebron took a PF first in Giannis. After Durant took Embiid, Lebron could just slot Jokic in his lineup, then go for the other positions first to get the advantage. So he picked Curry out of Curry/Morant/Young, which makes sense with a lineup that has him and Giannis. Then out of the G/F options (DeRozan/Tatum/Wiggins), he gets the best one in DeRozan.
