I don't think they need to get rid of it but I also understand why some would. These players who test positive are fine. They get sick but then again, so do most who catch it. More importantly however I've yet to see a single NBA player critically ill from this. And they likely aren't going to be, vaccinated or not. So this missed time in isolation when testing positive is simply for slowing down the spread (Not because they are incapable of playing).

I thought that was the goal, to slow down the spread. Seems like a worthy goal and seems to be working.

The spike was always going to be a seasonal thing. It was pretty common knowledge because that’s how these things work. The NBA did the right thing and focused on testing and getting players/personnel boosted to weather the storm. Unlike the NFL who just stuck their head in the sand and ignored the spike. Now next year they’ll know that testing, contract tracing and boosters should be the focus BEFORE the holidays and that will help slow the spread.

So I noticed in the Kings/Pacers trade thread some people were stating Justin Holiday wouldn't be able to play home games because he was unvaccinated.

With that in mind, does anyone know if the city of Sacramento has a vaccination mandate like NYC and San Francisco? If Sacramento does not, then Holiday should be fine to play at Golden 1 Center.

No they don’t have the same mandates. Really only 3 teams are affected.

No problem. I don’t think it was easy to find but I remember hearing it on a podcast evaluating them trade enlighten of Holiday’s vaccination status.

Sac is wide open, mandates are done per County out here. SF Bay is different, Wiggins had to get vaxed but a visiting team player (Kyrie) doesnt have to

He's clearly a smart guy too, but just really susceptible to nonsense.

Why does everyone say this? Do we have any proof beyond his vague random pseudo-intellectual musings that he is a bright guy? I'd love to hear something legitimately intelligent from him.
