Counterpoint: I'll watch anything with Goldblum. Doesn't have to be good, just has to be Goldblum.

Did you see him in the new season of Search Party? Peak Goldblum.

The original Vikings was great, at least the first few seasons.

I'm going to be that guy that says "Have you read the books?" I think the show is excellent as well and love Alexander Dreymon as Uhtred, but you might get another fix through the books. Such well written action scenes and characters. OR go another route and read his King Arthur trilogy of books, The Warlord Chronicles. Basically like Last Kingdom except focused on King Arthur and Derfel, who Uhtred is like a combination of.

I haven't, no (but I'm a horrible reader ). I didn't know he did a King Arthur series too, that's another topic I'm a huge sucker for when it comes to movies and tv shows. I'll have to check into both, thanks!

They actually aren't very dense books. 300-350 pages, lots of actions, pretty easy reading. Another option are the audio books which are great too if you drive a bit or walk the dog etc.

I'm still holding out hope that someone will pick up and continue The Last Kingdom. I agree, it is a very good.

Ozark doesn’t hit me that way but that’s how The Leftovers was. I eventually stopped watching because the show just made me so sad lol.

Spoiler:
The Joan Jett led power ranger street toughs are so cheesy and look so cheap.

I like the big spider robots shooting above and below the retreating good guys for no reason. Also, they have these impenetrable shields but let’s just keep shooting at them anyway and trying to set them on fire.

Boba: “We can’t retreat. They’ll destroy the whole city.”(proceeds to destroy the whole city with his totally not a Hulk rip off rancor)

Mandos baby Yoda reunion should not have been ruined on this show and done in such a cheap throwaway full house moment. In general the Mandalorian’s inclusion ruined that series. Those first two seasons are basically irrelevant now.

Rancoors can now jump and run and penetrate force fields. Ok. Got it.

Literally the only good thing to come from this show was we finally got to see a wookie doing the things Han told the droids wookies do in a new hope.

Blue face: “I’ve known you a long time Boba. One thing I can’t figure is…what’s your angle?” Wow. Perfect summation of the character and this dumb show.

Hey…Memba King Kong!!!!?

Was I supposed to know who was in the coma in the after credits scene?

Disney took a fledgling franchise and just accelerated it. With a universe like Star Wars you could go any direction you want and create just about anything yet they just continuously go back to the same old ****. It’s lazy and boring. There’s no juice left in this giant orange.

Spoiler:
coma guy was Timothy Oliphant’s character (the marshal that got shot by blue guy (Cad Bane; incredible character from Clone Wars/Rebels).

The droids being a terrible shot isn’t exactly new to Star Wars but it is pretty lame.

Introduced my wife to the classic “That Thing You Do” last night. Easily one of the most underrated movies from the 90’s, just a blast to watch.

I rock the soundtrack to this day. It’s amazing to me that they created that much material that you could’ve easily and seamlessly stuck smack dab in that era and no one would’ve been the wiser.

That was a vhs staple for me back in the day

Totally, it’s the type of movie that rarely gets made today. There’s not many lighthearted 90 minute romps releasing anymore, let alone with a large budget. Even Hanks has turned to more serious roles. Catch Me If You Can turns 20 this year.

LOTR trailer was exciting. I'm not much of a TV watcher outside of sports and food, but that's definitely on my list.

I am a massive Tolkien whore, and I literally watch Peter Jackson's adaptations (specifically The Fellowship of the Ring) to fall asleep most nights.

I am cautiously optimistic, although I already see issues. I just hate modern-age filmmaking where using CGI is the way. Peter Jackson's trilogy was so great and immersive because CGI was scarcely used, mostly because of when they were made.

They seem to be taking on the 2nd Age, which is the rise of Sauron the Deceiver in his fairest form as an apprentice to Morgoth (Melkor), the first Dark Lord. There are so many amazing stories to be pulled from the Silmarillion, which I believe to be the source material. I just so badly want it to not suck!

Robert Aramayo as young Elrond is exciting. I thought he was fantastic as young Ned Stark in GoT, before it went to ****.

We sure we watched the same trilogy? Fellowship sure, I think the technological limitations were there at the time and a big deal was made about how much they shot on location in New Zealand for the first two. But Return of the King felt like it was basically made entirely in front of a green screen lol.

I think the series looks promising. You know Amazon has poured a ton of money into it for the production values, and the cast looks pretty decent. I know nothing about the more obscure LOTR lore and stories so it won't feel too forced or unnecessarily drawn out like the rather awful Hobbit movies.

I mean CGI characters, like the orc villains in The Hobbit for instance. All of the orc characters in The Trilogy were costumes and makeup.

Obviously, there is a ton of CGI and miniatures for the massive armies, cities, trolls, etc. Basically, they used CGI for the things they HAD to use it for. Now it feels like directors cut corners for everything with CGI and it looks terrible.

Reacher was fun as hell. Only disappointment was the season was so short.

I just finished Bosch (great). I see that they are continuing it as Bosch: Legacy (starting with the 14th book) this summer on IMDB TV.

I've not watched anything on IMDB TV. I know it's owned by Amazon and it seems to be free with ads but I don't see an ad free option even if you have Prime. Is that correct?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

People had the same angry things to say about Peter Jackson and the original trilogy before it aired. Also, everyone still has a horrible taste in their mouth from Game of Thrones.
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”
