He's cool with the mods so they let him do whatever he wants, then as soon as others start to engage his attention-starved ass, THEN it becomes a problem and threads get locked, warnings issued etc etc.

It's obvious to all who frequent this board except those in charge I guess.

Ah well, back to minding my own MF'n bidness..
It's not that simple. Like it or not he's very good at toeing the line and while the pattern of behavior establishes him as a toxic contributor, it's difficult to look at any one individual post as being particularly problematic. It's the continuous needling that gets people and that is much harder to regulate. Especially when he knows when to back off.

I've gone at him several times recently, but I don't have any real power any more. I just call him on his b.s. when I see it.

For what it's worth our mods do an outstanding job, especially compared to pretty much every other board. This isn't a police state; people are allowed to be pompous ****, even if we don't like it.

See? There you have it. All fully explained. Barely staying inside the rules is still staying inside the rules. Sarcasm and pomposity are not violations of the TOS.

Now, like Eddie Murphy said on stage once, it's not like I come in here, say a few swear words and leave, or all of my posts are trying to dress someone down for presenting a bad argument. I've got nearly 67,000 posts; I can assure you that not only is it statistically impossible for me to be a dick in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, but it's simply not true. And all you who read this board and have any problem with me know it whether you'll admit or not. There's a lot more contribution to the topics than me playing acerbic stand up comic and yankin' chains. Don't make bad arguments then get riled up when I say "That's a bad argument, and here's why." Because I can assure you I'm going to continue to do it. We all do here, every day, and I'm no different.

You call me toxic, I call the ruffled feathers a sign of insecurity. It's words on the internet yet some of you guys act like I'm playing grab ass with your ladies or something. How anyone could be actually upset about anything I write is beyond me; I get a kick out of all of it. There IS a block button here; use it. I probably endure as many or more insults as anyone on this board and that's fine; it's words on a screen. Hell, you personally attacked me using the logic of "And I know you're just going to insult me, passive aggressively do blah blah blah, so I'll just address it now" as a response to my LACK OF response. And I didn't even respond the THAT post. I mean, if we're going to air it all out...really? Seriously, dude.

So lighten up, Francis-es. Have fun with it. And yes, the mods here DO do a good job comparatively speaking. If you think I'M a real headache, go visit the General Board sometime.

For the record, I can assure you there are mods who are NOT "cool" with me. The mod cliques, holier than thou attitudes, biases relative to treating some posters with favoritism while breaking other posters' balls (like reffing inconsistencies) are why I quit being a mod. Some of them take being a mod WAAAAAAAAY too seriously. And that's not me. IT'S AN INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD. Nothing more.

He is still breaking 3 point shooting records.

Yes, I agree. That is why I am not too worried about him. I think he is a prime candidate for that magical 3rd year breakout.
Hopefully he goes back to being mostly a spot up 3pt shooter inside the arc he's dreadful. I'd rather him score 12 points efficiently than 16 inefficiently.

I actually like his aggressiveness. He looks like hot garbage sometimes inside the arc but sometimes he looks really nice. He is just inconsistent. Now is the time for him to develop those skills while games don't matter. Bey with a consistent 3 and scoring inside the arc is a borderline allstar.

Yeah but if by next season he doesn't improve I'd pull the plug. Don't want another Drummond post up situation.

Just wanted to say I personally don't have a problem with Manocad. Not sure anybody cares but I generally enjoy reading his posts.

Yeah, I try to actually provide some well-thought opinions, logical arguments and even humorous points. Squeezed in amongst all the detritus left behind by my toxic behavior of course, but they're there if you're looking.

I definitely know what you mean with the ones you are talking about. If you don't share their same life views then they can't ever see past it. It's pathetic but who really gives a crap.

Cade 24 Hayes 24
Diallo 24 Cade 8 FJ 16
Bey 32 Grant 16
Grant 16 KO 32
Stewart 28 Bagley 20

9 man rotation to see exactly what we have.

Let's get a long look at that group before we go jumping to conclusions in the off-season.

CoJo & McGruder coach from the bench and that makes it 11 "active" players.

Garza, Livers, Pickett, Lee can alternate between riding the pine and doing their thing in the G League as we see fit.

When healthy and given time to gel, I really like that roster. We just have to figure out how not to get killed in 3 point and rebounding differentials.

Ayton is my dream but I hear Bamba too? Anyone else on the market that is possible? I assume Turner is off the market now that Sabonis got traded. I prefer to keep Grant this offseason but we can trade him if it means getting back a starting center.

Cunningham/Jackson/Hayes
Ivey/Diallo
Grant/Bey
Bagley/Olynyk
Ayton/Stewart

Let's get it done Weaver

Keeping Grant is a 'no tanking 2023' move for now, but he could be moved in the off-season.

Pistons already had a bunch of cap space and there arent any unrestricted all-star type guys looking for a change. If Bagley sucks and he isnt given a contract or he only get half the QO per year it will be more.

But there isnt anyone worth spending on. Portland will resign Simons and Mavs look to resign Brunson (who Im not even interested in personally). Jalen Smith was traded for and will likely get a contract.

So the best thing to do with the cap space would be to take on bad contracts and get 1st round picks and hope for miracles.

Josh Christopher and Quinten Grimmes were mid 20s. Desmond Bane, Tyrese Maxey and Haliburton were all higher picks. All are not bad and would help the Pistons.

Keeping Grant doesnt follow that so far.

Agree, except I think Jalen Smith would be someone we could go after. By trading for Smith, they can't offer him more than 5.6 mil a year. If we really want him we could get him. 6-7 mil is what would be left over if we sign Brunson. We really need some rim protection.

Neither do I. At least he's discussing basketball. Most others prove they don't even watch the games. Then try to discuss fellow posters instead of discussing basketball, which gets threads locked. I guess that's entertaining for them since they cannot contribute knowledgeably. And when their accounts get banned, they pop up with new ones.

Just remember that if Manocad eventually does play grab ass with our ladies, it is not a violation of the TOS. I checked.

Okay guys, I'm going to start locking every thread that becomes about posters rather than about relevant topics.
