Welcome Bol Bol

I have to admit I've been intrigued by him when he's been able to play.

Bol is like Chet without the bbiq and high motor. Maybe our young core can get his motor turned up but his bbiq, especially on defense is dreadful

He's on the Magic so I'm gonna root for him to succeed. I am perfectly fine taking chances on reclamation projects. My expectations are extremely low though.

Based on the actual terms of the trade (aka the 2nd rounder they got is protected and 6 years away) and the fact they already waived Dozier, I believe Bol is absolutely going to be on next year's roster and they actually made the deal because they wanted him for next season.

Otherwise the Magic took on $4M in salary for no reason because they didn't get any sort of useful draft asset out of the deal.

It's possible that the Celtics sent over enough in cash considerations to pay for the dead money in waiving Moore, MCW and Dozier, which would more or less make it a "free" look at Bol, but I'm not sure on that.

Just hope this FO doesn't give Bol a 2-3 year deal just because we have cap space

Well i would rather try with 7 foot player than another 6'4 combo guard so i understand the logic. Dont have high hopes but whatever. Welcome Bol.

Same. I kind of like the fact they are taking these chances. You just never know.

As for the player himself...he looks way more fluid than Bamba but even skinnier and weaker. Definitely not seeing him as a C despite being over 7 feet.

I mainly see it as they don't plan on matching a big Bamba offer and they already got his replacement.

Manute lied about his age. Bol Bol looks like he’s 33… just saying.

Bol only has a 7'6" wing span. What a joke!

Seriously though: Bol's upside is as a bench PF that just launches away threes. I can see an NBA market for that, so long as he is healthy.

I have no issues with this. Bol is obviously very talented. He is very skilled and he moves pretty well. I don't know if his foot issues can get sorted out. If they can, then he has a chance to become something.

I guess Bol takes Schofield's roster slot best year. Basically moving deck chairs to me.

I’m pretty sure Bol doesn’t play a single minute for this franchise. And I’m perfectly ok with that. But if it comes down to paying Bamba more than he’s worth or Bol the league minimum to back up Wendell, go with the 8 footer.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

If they had no intention of keeping Bol for next season, they would have just released him like they did Dozier and brought in someone from the G-League who was actually healthy enough to play.

I suspect Bol Bol will be on the roster next season.
