It's not a wonder the Knicks FO moved that extra Charlotte pick.

I think they moved it because it might have reached its maximum value.

Hornets might end up higher in the draft than the Knicks this yeah. It might not convert next year either. :dontknow:

I honestly could see them trading the Mavs 2023 to get a second 2022 first round pick back. Just from a philosophical standpoint this year has more high floor players than next year’s HS class.

I could see the Knicks and thibs sold on drafting somebody more so NBA ready made who wont step on the the foot of his precious vets. keep a look out for ochae agbaji folks that’s right up thibs ally

I still like ty ty Washington for the Knicks though, we should be in high demand for a point guard.

I like Benedict Matthurin alot if he happens to fall and we start looking at wings

Not sure we would really be in play for the top guys in the draft. Not under thibs watch :D

I like those players too but I was genuinely angry reading your first line thinking how true it was.

Don't you put that on me Ricky Bobby.

Since we’ll be picking between 8-13 again, let’s please take the guy with the highest ceiling. Find the next SGA, Mitchell, Booker, or Giannis. There’s always one guy in almost every draft who slips the through the cracks and becomes a star. We need to find that guy. I have 5% faith this FO will find him. But we have a chance

Thibs is going to push for us to trade the pick + other players in a package, it's what he did in Minnesota.

I doubt it happens. It’s pretty well established that Thibs ran the wolves into the ground seeking wins and ironically enough Rosas came in and cleaned up. Thibs is here for coaching, and based on the rumors while they do listen to his opinion on players (like keeping Grimes in the reddish trade or his concerns on Cam). He isnt choosing the direction they go in.

He's going to push for it, and this front office is going to be desperate to make up for this season. They are all going to be on the same page, except for possibly Rosas. Based on last summer and the trade deadline I have absolutely no faith in this front office making the right moves this summer, if we can't even find minutes for Obi/Cam, do you really think they're going to bring in another lottery pick, when they can probably package it for some fringe top 35 player?

The Knicks could have easily moved some vets if they added a draft pick to them, and it was reported while they were open to trading Cam to the lakers they wanted more for that deal than just one 1st round pick.

They could trade the youth for a star, but for now it sounds like they are open to going young.

Chet Holmgren's shooting 75% from 2, 47% from 3, 73% from FT, while rebounding 9 a game and blocking 3 shots a game.

He boxes out, doesn't force the action, and actually goes up strong. I hate him as a trailing three point threat, his defensive awareness is bleh, and he's still just super raw, but obviously a lot to work with. You could see him putting some meat on the bones and actually becoming a bigman that can play most of a season.

I've only seen a little of him, but he's got really good ball skills for someone that height.

its legit incredible how the wolves jumped us by a game landed the first pick to draft Towns and then several years later they get the first pick and draft Ant at number #1 as well.

2 number 1 picks in 5 years.

the knicks tank for one season and when the the luck of the draw doesn't favor them they quit and then sign a bunch of vets.

They didn’t tank they were just bad both times. The year KP got drafted the Knicks got Gutted by Phil trying to make the triangle work and RJ’s draft was Fizdale and the aftermath of Phil Jackson’s failed triangle experiment. The Knicks never tanked, they were just badLy coached and lacked talent. Sort of like this year but Thibs even at his worst is head and tails better than Fisher, Hornecek, and Fizdale.

It’s definitely a Dolan thing though I don’t think he cares as long as the losing doesn’t have people calling him out in the media for being a bad team owner. That’s when the ax comes out,

The one time we didn’t do that was KP, interestingly enough.
