The one thing I can never shake off: a 73 win team went crying to Durant to sign with them so they could beat lebron. That says so much about Lebron that a team who won 73 games knew it needed even more to beat him .

The Warriors received too much unnecessary criticism for that move. Prior to acquiring KD, the Warriors did not have a reliable closer despite the success the team was having. Steph and Klay were prone to making crunch time mistakes, almost as if uncomfortable in the crunch when you have fewer possessions. KD gave them a reliable closer and someone who was poised in the crunch. KD made them a complete team, not the superteam everyone wants to believe they were. I think the current Curry is the closer they need, but back then he was not quite there yet.

I’m no lebron fan boy, but this guy has earned his place in NBA history. There was unrelenting hype going into the draft & he’s surpassed realistic expectations IMO.

I still remember watching his first game VS SAC when I was college. Everyone pulled up a chair to see him play.

Then it’s a good thing for LeBron that he’s won more playoff games than anyone else in NBA history.

And Finals’ games?

Where does he rank?

But seriously, I am talking about NOW. Who cares if he is breaking scoring records when his team may not even make the playoffs.

Is that not the definition of empty stats??

What I want to know is why do they seperate season and post season point totals.

This is not directed at you, but many who seem to believe KD is some mental midget too weak to lead a team are often the same that believe he made the Warriors a super team. If people are really watching the games, especially during the playoffs, it's very noticeable what these players lack that warrant them needing to play with other great players.

I think the real issue is how fans and media use the term "superstar." Those are few and far between, but marketing has people believing the league has a lot of superstars. LeBron is, Giannis is, KD may be, but he may be like many others who get that title but are just great players, but they don't change the game and control it the way true superstars do. Instead these players appear greater than they are under the right situation, during fortunately healthy seasons. It's one reason Lillard should not feel like he does not need to join up, because as great as he is, he's not changing the game or controlling it. He's great in his situation and I think he knows it. Superstar players control the situation they are in. It's one reason people sometimes hate great leaders.

Obviously yes!?

The Lakers suck and the supposed goat tier
Player can’t push them over the edge unless that edge is a cliff … in which case it’s his dead weight pulling them over

I would trade LeBron for any decent player

If I were him, I would point out how many people told him for the past 15+ years that hes not a scorer and that hes 'pass first'.

He is #1 in playoff scoring
He is #1 in all time combined scoring
He is #1 in playoff game winners

He is #2 in playoff assists
He is #7 all time assists

Wait....didnt we have a 3 week party for Steph Curry hitting the most 3pt shots record? (thx Nick)

Is there a time when an FT doesn't count?

I suppose if the guy shooting it steps into the key before it hits the rim. I don't think it counts then or if foot is over the line.

I think the obvious answer is that these are individual records, and postseason opportunities are team dependent.

I’d assume it’s just to keep track of another stat they could flash and discuss to kill air time
