32M could be enough to keep Boucher, Thad and add an MLE guard:

Boucher 20M/2, player option in year 2
Thad 9M/1, team option in year 2
10.1M non tax MLE

should keep us just under the tax with the 31st pick, Champagnie and Johnson.

If we hadn't signed Birch and Siakam hadn't gotten 2nd team all NBA we could have had 15M in cap space
Where's the D?

If all things move forward without any trades we end up in that unenviable situation where you are over the cap by a bit but under the tax by miles.

Ideally for me, I would like to move Dragic / Boucher for some salary next season either w/ light sweetener or someone who fills a need.

Enough to keep us under the tax and be able to use the full MLE and sign our FRP so that we have some salary ballast tied to non-core pieces if we end up needing to make a larger deal.

This is exactly what I had hoped for. But alas...

I would think the plan would be to keep some of your FAs now so you can get the overall salary up;
Wouldn't be surprised to see Boucher and maybe even Young retained this offseason along with spending the full MLE and maybe even using the larger TPEs we have.

What's the deal with Jalen Harris? We have his rights, but he's not currently under contract?

GTJr has a bonus of around $250K. According to spotrac he has to play over 60 games, at 18mpg. It also shows wins/playoffs/finals. Not sure what that clause means. Does that means he gets the bonus if we make the playoffs? Or only if we get to the finals?

It's a minor amount, but something to perhaps consider for the salary table.

I wonder if we have any interest in him. We usually cleanly part ways with troubled kids.

Oh wow, I didn't realize we released them. That sucks. I was looking forward to bringing him back to our bench.

Yeah I imagine the same as well. There aren't any ways to add to the team outside of the ones you mentioned.

I think you’re mistaken. His two way contract expired and we were supposed to sign him this year to an actual nba contract but he was suspended. I’m pretty sure we still have is rights and I’m sure they will extend the qualifying offer.

if 6.5 mil x 2 (after this year) is the worst contract on your team; consider yourself lucky. some teams have stretched contracts that are close to his salary lakers are still paying loul deng 5 million this year, heat have ryan anderson stretched salary for 5.5;
nic batum still is being paid by charlotte 8.5 mil this year and next, and he starts for the clippers.

plus i expect birch to bounce back; covid twice, multiple injuries. he almost derailed the tank after getting into the starting lineup for the tampa raptors.

This is correct. Raps have an exclusive window to re-sign him in August if NBA suspension is lifted. If Raps pass, he becomes a FA.

Correct he was an rfa at the time he was suspended and remains an rfa now.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I don't see his cap hold.
But I wouldn't worry too much with lack of roster spot we got.

for any salary questions, just use spotrac. any other site is trash.

he was not guaranteed for next season.
