Said he sees Marvin “stretching the floor” but also added his strengths are in the paint.

Basically mirroring what we already knew. If we could get Bagley more in the paint and playing good D - he’ll be a good fit.

Would be nice to have Bagley on the outside much, MUCH less.

Weaver and Casey obviously never watched him play. Lol

I take the stretching comment to mean a more athletic rim running style, not outside shooting, based on his other comments.

Yeah this. People are missing the part where Casey says his strengths are in the paint. He can ALSO stretch the floor though too. Use him both situations but focus more on his strengths in the paint.

Yep. Which if you watched Bagley play and looked at his stats, you already knew. That to me reads like Weaver and Casey have seen Bagley play and expect him to keep doing exactly what he's been doing, which has not been hanging around the outside.

Awesome. We suck but at least the games are fun to watch because of Cade, Bey, Grant, Stewart and Hayes sometimes, and now Bagley.

yeah we have 6 guys who are listed as out right now (garza, jackson, lee, livers, pickett, smith) so our rotation should look like:

Cade
CoJo
Bey
Grant
Stewart

and the bench:

Hayes
McGruder
Diallo
Bagley
Olynyk

It makes sense for us to have Bagley simply backing up Grant for 18 to 20 MPG. Pair him with Kelly off the bench and let him try to come in without too much expectations on him. I'm sure we'll rest Grant for a few games down the stretch of the season where Bagley will get to show us what he can do as a starter as well. I think overall you want to get a feel for the type of player he is and can be without just giving him a huge roll and a ton of shots. Just try to see how he can fit in with what we're doing out there to see if he's worth giving a multi-year contract to.

I think you’re onto it here, but I’d like to see Cade and Bagley on the floor for a bit too

Without a doubt. Given Bagley's historical role of an inside athletic big dunking lobs and putbacks, I'd want to see him playing with the guys who can drive and dish. Not that Hayes can't do that but he's one guy. Put Bagley with Cade and Cojo and there's more opportunity for him to get those feeds in the paint.

Other than Bagley not starting 24 more games, maybe the lineups on the floor moving forward look like what was laid out above except flipping Bagley and Stew. In any case, IMO Casey should be doing a lot of lineup shuffling the rest of the year to see which combinations work. Can Bagley and Stew play together with Cade, Bey and Grant thus Cade doing all the offensive facilitating? Does the offense work better with another guard sharing PG responsibilities with Cade, regardless of the rest of the lineup?

I don't see Casey experimenting much with the lineup even if he should be. I'm only moderately interested in seeing Bagley play. He's younger than Garza which amazes me, but do I think the Pistons are such a rocking organization that another's team baggage will suddenly blossom here when he so struggled elsewhere?

A little improvement should be expected, but really, not much. This smells like Dennis Smith Jr.

Hope I'm wrong...

I wouldn't say I'm expecting Bagley to bust out, but he's the type of guy you just keep taking fliers on. Eventually, one pans out and really makes a difference. We've already seen him put up 14/7 on 50% shooting, so I don't think there is much question he can play offense in the NBA. Defense? Now that's the question. He's only 22 though, so it's not like he would be the first young big to take a while to develop defensively.

Nice first bucket for Bagley, Im honestly super high on his potential. Im betting that Sac was that bad of a situation when combined with Walton.

The Kings ended up with so many centers on their roster you'd think it was Troy Weaver's fantasy team lol. Bagley's injuries led to others getting opportunities that bumped him down the depth chart, let alone the lost development time. I'm hopeful with the right environment he can grow with this young bunch.

Perfect trade acquisition tbh

If he can put it all together we stole him for not much.

If he fails we don't really care.

Those are the acquisitions we need more of.

Ok but Smith was not really a pg or sg and we already had a bunch of young guys at those spots worth looking at. Bagley plays a position and style we need help at. We just needs to see where he falls between Thon Maker-Josh Jackson-Christian Wood on the “let’s take a chance on” group.

Bagley really stretched all the way out to the free throw line. Impressive stretch big there.
