Sacramento will make the playoffs this year (playoffs, not only playin). There, i said it.
He might not shoot 3s and whatever you want but is a thing of beauty watching Sabonis orchestrate the offense from the midpost, totally changed the team. He's really Jokic lite

Now this is just laughably bad. I think we had some bad takes on this site, I mean we had a thread saying the Kings GM should be fired over this trade.

But at least the majority of those were just bad takes. Probably a good amount of them not having watched enough Packers games to realize how good Sabonis is. But there weren't posts that were collectively this inaccurate.

I mean they're supposed to be NBA "experts" and just had a minute and a half made up conversation. Again it's not just having a really bad opinion, they literally were making up "facts" about these guys.

You would think some research or at minimum a producer in their ear would tell them. Or hell I doubt this is live, maybe an editor catching it. This is just laughably bad.

On a side note: Kayte Christensen is pretty, pretty, pretty good. She should be one of the top analysts in a national network.

As I predicted, the Kings would be much improved with the addition of Sabonis and the removal of the logjam in the backcourt.

When people say the NBA is a stars league what they mean by that is if you have a guy that draws a double team you can win games. Whether you have guys cutting or spotting up if you have a guy who can draw a double team you are going to get easy buckets. Teams are pretty screwed trying to cover Sabonis 1 on 1. Bad teams typically don’t have a star player as in a guy you might want to double.

Also teams don’t play three point guard lineups for a reason, all those guys were stepping on each other’s toes. Just like you don’t play three post up guy lineups.

Another aspect to trading Haliburton ASAP was that there is no market for Fox while there is a huge financial commitment to him. The King's could have considered Haliburton "losing" trade value once they were viewed as despirate to trade him because it becomes aparent that he is better at PG and "wants his own team." NBA front offices collude against the team that has more talent than playing time to develop the talent. Haliburton's trade value wasn't going to get much higher at the SG position.

I love Halliburton but I like this Kings team honestly. It costs a lot to get a player of Sabonis' caliber and he's on one of the best contracts in the league at just 20m a year for the next 2 seasons after this.

Sabonis/Holmes/Jones/Len
Barnes/Metu/Lyles
Harkless/Lamb/J.Jackson
Holiday/Divincenzo/Davis
Fox/Mitchell

Thats a really deep team and the pieces all fit. Sabonis/Fox p n r, shooters and defenders all around. I don't think theyre a contender, but I think the Lakers better watch their backs and start winning some games because NOLA and the Kings are definitely a threat to catch them in the standings.

For sure! I wish we could have made this deal sooner because i honestly feel we’re too far behind with a very difficult schedule coming up. Next season (if healthy) i really think this can be a playoff team if all goes well.

Sabonis flat out makes everyone’s life easier (especially Fox) and that ball movement is absolutely contagious. You’d think they’ve all been together for at least 2 years.

Eh, there is still plenty of time. They're only 1.5 behind the Blazers who are trending down. Getting into the play-in against the Wolves, Lakers, Clippers and it's anyones game.

Haliburton yesterday:

22/5/16 + 3 TOs
6/12 on 3s

This guy's gonna be amazing for the Pacers.

And I love Sabonis for the Kings as well.

It's obviously only been 2 games, but the some pretty interesting takes from the first 2 games.

1. Our team passing has improved. We have been over our season average by a good amount both games. The ball is touching more hands every possession. No more Fox, Buddy, and Hali all taking turns dribbling the air out of the ball.
2. Our team is rebounding muchhhh better. After losing the rebounding battle badly to Minnesota, we dominated the glass the next day when Sabonis came. We did the same against Washington.
3. Getting rid of Buddy was the biggest addition by subtraction. Such a low IQ player who insisted on jacking up bad shots and completely swinging games for the opponent. Incredible to shed his last 2 years.
4. Barnes/Fox benefited incredibly from playing off Sabonis. They shifted down to option 1b and 3, far better
5. Team body language is night and day. They went from looking like they absolutely hated playing together, to having fun.

Hali is a special player, hes got a chance to make this look bad for Sac in a few years. But very early results, it looks like a win-win.
