Some things never change.

Maybe we could trade the Portland pick for the Phoenix medical team.

Yeah, it sure is a bummer AND it would still be incredibly stupid to play.

They do run the open court breaks fairly fast, and watching his last game, it was a pretty straight forward dunk that got him hurting. Do we think he’s going to lay it in during the ASG?

Totally cool if he wants to go, hit the parties, rub elbows. Don’t want him playing.

He has plenty more all star games if he takes care of his health.

It’s his decision and we as fans have to respect it. I honestly don’t think he is going to jeopardize his health and the All Star game is still a week away. What’s to say that he wouldn’t be playing on that date if the Bulls had a game? He needs rest now not a week from now. The Bulls are playing 2 bad teams so they should have enough to win both games without him.

I'm not afraid if he's sitting out games now, if he needs time off to heal up so be it. I would let DJJ sit until after the break but if he says he can stand the pain then I won't stop him

Two categories of players to keep an eye on to get released or bought out, going to be a RFA means they have a cap hold I believe and player option guys that they don't really want but might take that option.

I do think now's the time to get on the phone and get some players. I mean we're down to Hill, Thomas and McKinnie, get a bucket and start bailing. Agents can pressure teams to just release their clients if they know they have a spot waiting for them. Bruno Fernando is out there. Yes Tristen Thompson, Mike Muscala, Paul Milsap, if TOR doesn't have plans for Thad Young he becomes legal, JayMicael Green in DEN.

Zach could be able to sit out longer if they had somebody who could score. That could be the Dragic, Gary Harris talk. There's Bembry, and I'm sure more possibilities.

If they can get a couple of guys and win a few more games to stay in the race it's going to create fear in the other teams that when Ball, Caruso and Williams return the Bulls could be a real problem. They also have to reduce the Minutes for DeRozan and Vucevic before the playoffs start.

Zach should skip the all-star game and 3pt contest, the whole weekend is completely irrelevant.

Sorry to say but it’s not his decision. The Bulls pay him $20m a year to play for the Bulls. The fans pay for tickets expecting to see him play. Of course if he’s injured he can’t play and that sucks. But it’s not his decision to prioritize the all star game over his team’s games. Not saying that’s definitely what’s happening here but if it was Zach would be in the wrong.

No and I’ve recently seen some reports questioning whether that’s actually going to happen or not. The Magic love him as a vet.

The All Star game isn’t today it’s a week from now. He might be medically cleared by then regardless. Yeah if he plays in the All Star and then sits out the next Bulls game I’d have a problem with that but that isn’t the case here.

He hasn't been the same in a while. His cutting and jabbing, step-backs, even his jumping have all been sub-par. I'm glad he'll have time to rest up. The knee plays an important part in his explosion, no need to mess around with it.

Yeah I am fine with him playing if he feels better in a week, which is possible. Obviously no one wants him to play if he is going to make the matter worse. I get that the game means absolutely nothing, but for a player it is a big deal still, it is the culmination of your life work. Yup it doesn't count for jack but it does mean something among your peers and overall "legacy" It's easy for me to say it's stupid but I haven't done everything these guys have to get to the level they did. Also that game won't require too much of him and might be a good place to test his knee. As you said though, if he misses the games after the ASB that is not cool at all.

I wouldn’t fault him for participating in the ASG. His teammate and former teammates will be there. Plus it’s his second one and the first with a crowd. I totally get it.

Ideally he would skip it, but if he plans on participating that might be a good sign that it’s not that serious. Though, having a full 8-10 days off your feet could do him well.

Zach can go to the ASG, hang out, have fun, tamper with potential FAs, lose in the first round of the 3 pt contest, be introduced at the ASG, play 4-5 minutes, and then resume his rest. Done.

I'm not sure how much rest will solve whatever problem he is having with the knee. He's probably gotten more rest this season with cancelled covid games, covid protocols and his knee pain then he has had in other seasons. So it's not like this is a over use injury, something has to be wrong with the knee.

Looking big picture though, him having trouble with his surgically repaired knee in his contract year might cause some hesitation on his future contract. Will be interesting to see if that plays a factor. I'm sure he wants to finish this season strong and healthy for that reason.

Zach got his back then his knee. He’s breaking down on us. He has to rest this and hope this isn’t anything that will continue to be a problem. Him resting though sucks for Derozen, more work load and pressure now heading into the most important part of the season trying to finish on top. He actually could of used a few games off himself.

Honestly he should have sat against The Suns... So should have Vuc and DDR...

I know how important stacking wins are but health is more important than standings.
