Per nba.com, the Cs have the #1 defensive rating since 11/01/2021.

3 definite stars IMO ( If Jaylen doesn't Go WTF sometimes) RW is a monster Role playing perfect complement to the Js. Smart has been a solid role player for over a month and D White may Fit even better than a higher level player like Beal. DW is the ultimate do a bit of everything GLUE GUY we need.
I love that the Core 5 have similar timelines. The Celtics just needs to find/develop one or 2 more bench pieces and we should compete well for years IMO.
I think Brad himself has said it’s important to get the right guy, not necessarily another superstar like Beal. Maybe we need a versatile PF who can defend, switch, rebound and score 20 pts on occasion. Would Jerami Grant be a perfect fit? Is Collins a good enough defender?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Collins did impress my somewhat in last seasons playoffs. Had some real growth there. Not amazing in space but decent secondary rim protection/help defense. He’d fit great but no way to get him without trading smart probably.
Grant from all reports values being a top 2 option for his team and generally seems to want a bigger role than his skills warrant. I’d pass.
A guy we could probably sign and trade into a tpe is Kyle Anderson. Is essentially wing version of al Horford but not as good as peak Horford ofc. Not the shooter you’d want but solid at everything and another ex spur. He’d be a solid starter until we can find the more longterm option

That's 3 centers plus the guy who was just traded for one of the 3.

I couldn't agree more. Our team, 1-8, is very strong. I don't think we need to add a Bradley Beal level player, especially considering what it would cost to do so. We need to augment what we have by the addition of one or two solid bench players. The additions of White and Theis exemplify the type/level of player we should be targeting. If we're lucky, Pritchard, Nesmith, and Hauser will step up, giving us added depth. We're nearly there, and one more player could make a huge difference. Perhaps that player will come from the ranks of this years buyouts. There are some interesting names being mentioned as buyout candidates, Gary Harris, DeAndre Bembry, Robin Lopez... Let's see what happens. Feeling good about our team right now, though.

I don't think Collins is a good fit at all. He's too young and will want his shots-- shots that Tatum and Brown ought to be taking. Grant, who is 28 and made his mark as a 6th man in Denver, is a better option.
If they add another significant player, it has to be someone like White who understands his role and makes teammates better. Sabonis would be perfect here as a Horford replacement but he's almost certainly unattainable.
Either Bojan and Bogdan would be very good fits here. Other guys who I think would fit and who might be attainable are Pat Connaughton, Will Barton, Cedi Osman, Chris Boucher, Dorian Finney-Snith and Joe Ingles (probably going back to Utah but you never know).

Can KA switch effectively? After his year in Memphis I could see him being Schroder money or less in free agency.. another guy who isn’t shooting great, but he’d be a nice roleplayer.
Collins and Grant are expensive and would break up our yet to be nicknamed Smart/White duo.. (the Smother Brothers?)..
A rookie scale young 4 who can stay on the court immediately as 3&D is the number one piece to bring in.. McDaniels, Nnaji.. if Okongwu develops a three ball (he’s working), that’s the guy I might trade Smart or White for.. those first two were picks in the 20s.. I’d probably trade Nesmith for either one, but we should be scouring the 2022 class and G league and Europe for an undrafted FA.. Monitor Jonathan Isaac..
If it were me I’d look to move Theis, if he’s rejuvenated or not, with Nesmith/Pritchard.. if you trade him before July 1 you could get TJ Warren or Robert Covington’s expiring and open up close to the full MLE..
Another comp - Larry Brown Pistons with a little more star power, our Rasheed Wallace away.

Was discussing this earlier elsewhere, but Jaylen is probably the weakest link on defense in our shortened rotation, and he's a pretty decent defender. We don't really have any of those individually dominant DPOY type players like Gobert, Ben Wallace, KG, Duncan, but also after the deadline trades we have up to four players who might be considered elite defenders at their positions, and eight deep with players who are solid and can defend multiple positions without giving up serious mismatches, with a good positional balance that gives us depth throughout the lineup. Great for switching.

I’m on board with jaden mcdaniels target. Would cost a first and nesmith at least I’d think but amazing defensive upside. Serious question marks on his offense though. Okongwu is probably as close to untouchable as it gets atm

If Boston can get the forward version of D White, a player who excels at gluing everything together. I would love that more than a "3rd star" (should read a 4th star since we have RW)
But who fits that Bill out there??
Edit.. Next year I still like/want Harrison Barnes if possible. Think he would work nicely as a glue guy.

You ordered another star?
Someone clearly wants to join his Team USA buddies on the C's.

Nah. I mean I'm sure the C's would think about that but it wasn't on my mind. Donovan forcing a trade to our team for Kornet and cap filler would be cool though.

Mitchell would be way better than Beal.. Utah would have to tear down, which is possible considering the age of the roster. Lets you trade one of Smart/White, you'd have to send a decade of picks/swaps but..

If Atlanta decided they wanted Jaylen, Huerter/Hunter/Okongwu is interesting.. Deandre has to stay healthy but he's another elite defensive player.. and before he got hurt he was flashing a big unexpected leap offensively.
I don't think Minnesota trades McDaniels, but you never know what happens after another round of asset movement.. they miss the playoffs and win a top 3 pick, he's expendable..
Think Nnaji's off limits too, unless they decide MPG and Gordon both need to play the 4..

Right, they have other forwards.. and it make sense for them to trade one of their guards for a 3.5/4.. it was an astute ask by Brad.
