You just don't want any part of the Mets in the NLCS because we owned you. It's alright, I can understand that...

Didn't we end the year at a 9-9 tie? Then again, I guess a .500 record is considered "ownage" for Mets fans.

Chipper with his 29th homer.

I've been saying for awhile now that I would love to see Chipper end the year with 30 homers and win the battle title.

Friday:

J. Reyes vs. M. Albers

Reyes career ERA against Houston is 12.00, only 3 innings against Houston.

Rookie Jo-Jo Reyes (1-2, 6.75 ERA) will look for his second straight winning decision for the Braves.

Albers career ERA against Atlanta is 27.00, only 2.1 innings.

Matt Albers (4-10, 5.88 ) will start Friday for Houston in place of ace Roy Oswalt, who was shut down for the season because of soreness in his left side.

Albers will try to avoid his fifth straight loss after allowing two runs and 11 hits in six innings of a 7-4 defeat at St. Louis on Saturday.

I hope we can beat the Astros pretty good. We need to go into the offseason on a positive note. The Astros in the early 2000's beat us out of the playoffs two years in a row. We need to run up the score on us.

HMFFL, do you mind if I post the scouting reports?

Tonights Game: September 30th

Minute Maid Park | 2:05 PM ET

Buddy Carlyle, RHP (8-6, 5.16)
Braves (84-77) @

Felipe Paulino , RHP (1-1, 10.38)
Astros (72-89)

Scouting Report:

Braves: With Chuck James nursing a sore arm, the Braves will reward Carlyle with the start in the season's final game. In his past six starts, he's gone 1-3 with an 8.17 ERA. But if he hadn't gone 6-1 with a 3.21 ERA in the eight starts he made from June 26-Aug. 7, the Braves rotation woes would have been even greater. The 29 year-old right-hander says the right elbow that he hyperextended on Sept. 15 is healthy.

Astros: Paulino earned his first Major League win on Sept. 25 in Cincinnati, benefiting from the Astros' come-from-behind win over the Reds after yielding five runs over five frames. He gave up four in the second inning but pitched well for the remaining three frames, yielding only two hits. The right-hander will be one of several pitchers vying for a spot in the rotation next year, so this last start could be huge in terms of giving the front office something to think about over the winter months.

We need to win this game to go into the off-season with our heads up. Come out next year and win the N.L East.

I really just hope Chipper hits his 30th homer.

Matt Holliday passed Chipper for the batting title last night.
