Hopefully the new owner changes the name to Ground Hogs and then fades away.

Yeah, I want a name much better than Ground Hogs.
Not feeling that one.

Really? It seems perfect in multiple ways to me. Different strokes.

If Snyder got voted out, it would be perfect.

I mean I wouldn't be shocked if they sacrificed Snyder to save themselves at this point and I mean it's not like Snyder gets nothing lol. He gets to sell the team at a fair evaluation and pocket billions and ride off into the sunset.

Yikes, I mean, how can you get it so wrong??
Not surprising that the franchises leadership incompetency would reflect in the handling of the name change.

Washington hasn’t warmed up to the Commanders just yet.
According to a citywide Washington Post poll, close to half of D.C. residents have a negative view of the team’s new name, with 32 percent disliking it and 17 percent saying they “hate” it.
Four out of 10 residents are positive about the new name, but their positive feelings toward the change are soft, with only 5 percent claiming to “love” the Commanders and 36 percent saying they “like” the new name. Eleven percent say they have no opinion of the name.
Of the three names the team has had since 1933, a 43 percent plurality of D.C. residents say they prefer Washington Football Team, compared with 26 percent who favor the Commanders and 22 percent who say they prefer the Redskins. Five percent say they favor another name, and another 5 percent have no opinion.

Yeah the Commies name is more akin to the "Commodes" to the denizens of the district. I hope Danny is chased out before he gets a chance to move them to Virginia and totally sever all ties with any historically successful past.

Zero chance Dan Snyder is allowed to keep the team if this tax bill for the stadiums passes

The first thing is have the players not wear underwear and then call them the Commando Commanders. Showing a lot of butt cracks might get the marketing up or down either way I'm not sure... butt scratch no... man cleavage with hair that might get them going ....queridiculo wrote:https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/02/21/washington-commanders-stadium-dc-poll/

Commanders was a stupid name and I think the Sentinels would have been a lot better because that was the name used on The Replacements
That name is just so stupid

Commodes - they should really step up the urinal cake game.
I didn't think much of Washington Football Team as a team name, but I did like the helmets specifically and the uniforms in general.

The Commodores I wonder if they would have given up the licensing for their name for a price?

My first memories of watching the Skins was Charley Taylor and Roy Jefferson at WR and Jerry Smith at TE. All 3 were terrific, but Taylor was the guy that had STAR written all over him. He was the prototype for all WR's in my mind. I don't think I ever did see him with Bobby Mitchell and Sonny Jurgenson - that must have been something - with all due respect to Billy Kilmer's wet noodle of an arm. RIP Mr. Taylor.
