I'm more concerned about his FT shooting than i am his jump shooting. If he can hit in the mid to upper 60s i will live with it. We need his playmaking, rebounding, and defense more than him scoring.

While it would be nice if he could improve his shooting, I’m not going to get my hopes up and believe it will happen. He’s been in the league for 5 seasons and hasn’t improved his shooting (or at least, has been unwilling to showcase it in-game).

For someone so naturally gifted, it’s truly a shame to see him not improve on a year-to-year basis. I wonder if his lack of improvement is what Embiid is referring to when he says that Simmons isn’t committed to winning.

People may think he's faking or joking, but I 100% believe that Ben does have mental health issues in terms of shooting. He seems deathly afraid to take a jump shot or three pointer in games. It's bizarre behavior especially when you see him shooting in practice settings his shot doesn't even look bad.

Like...who cares if you miss? Just take the shot.

I hope he has been working with a sports psychologist.

Also, Bens ideal spot on the nets is PG. KD has played off ball his entire time hear and Kyrie had the best season of his career last year off ball (27 ppg on 50/40/90)

He would be surrenounded by 3.5 shooters (Kyrie, KD, curry or harris, and LMA or Blake)

This clown has no clue. School him Prok.
Yes I have no clue. I only watched every game he's played since he entered the league lol. Good luck.

This is where your ignorance shows. It has nothing to do with Ben and everything to do with the Nets. We have played with absolute ZEROS starting for this team from a shooting perspective. Bruce Brown started at SF for us in the playoffs. Blake Griffin also. in the playoffs.

This year, and what i posted/linked to to illustrate, is that we have been starting 3 non-shooters (like AWFUL shooters) and playing with 4 non-shooters all year. Ben doesnt come in and make spacing worse. If anything post-trade our spacing gets better because Ben + Curry is a more spacing then Brown + Johnson.

You can live with 1-2 non shooters. especially when you have Kyrie and KD on the floor who can play off ball and get a shot even against less then ideal spacing.

If Ben is the worst floor spacer of all time, it still doesnt downgrade our spacing. we already have league worst type spacing pre-trade. Its why Marks was so adamant Curry be included

Completely disagree. And its probably worse for him to find some mid range game. his midrange will never be good enough to warrant taking it on a team with KD/Kyrie.

He needs to continue to emulate Rondo and Giannis, who use the big cushion of space to get momentum towards the basket. if they play you at the restricted area, get running start. maybe develop a floater but i dont ever want him shooting mid range. As is, sometimes its not ideal when LMA shoots mid range and he is automatic

Rondo and Giannis take the open jumpers. He can't refuse to shoot even a guy like Draymond takes and makes a few to keep the defense honest. His free throws need to improve as well or he'll become a liability in the playoffs once again.

He just needs to do what he does at his best possible level.

First thing he should focus is getting his FT % in the 65-75 range.
Then you see where we go from there. We don't need him shooting 3s with this roster.

Play to your strengths and the rest will fall into place.

This play is going to be key for the Nets. our offense is all based off perimeter dribble handoffs. I think it will be a staple of ours if teams sag off of Ben as they likely will. The dribble hand off where he acts a screener... it Gives Kyrie/Curry/Mills the ball with their man caught on the screen and the big too far to close out

As a Aussie bball fan (not a huge Ben fan by the way), I see this as a bit of Bogut - GSW moment, where Bogut basically brought something special to the Warriors that gelled with Curry and Co and the rest is history.

Won't be surprised if we don't see him for another month. What a **** disaster.

How does a guy who's been on holiday have back issues? Morey looking like a genius right now.

Edit: Acutally being on holiday is exactly why he has soreness lol. Unlike Kyrie who at least practises at home, I can safely say this guy has not done much practice wise which is shocking. Just no urgency, no love of the game. We have two dudes on this team who do not think basketball is a priority in their lives.

I'll push back a bit, everything I've heard about Simmons is that he's one of the best conditioned athletes in the NBA. The back thing could be a flare up, or a smokescreen for keeping him out of the match 10th game. Either way, sucks for him and us. Delaying that reunion is only going to increase the vitriol when he finally has to play there. Just our luck, it'll be in the playoffs.

This man really can't play with a little back soreness? Like seriously???

WTF is going on? Were losing every **** game. And him and Kyrie are leaving us out to dry.

If youre that scared of the Philly game then just skip it. I don't care!

Welcome to the Ben Simmons experience. He don't give a s*** about the fans or the team unless it aligns with his desires and you better never question him or else he'll sulk like when he refused to take another 3 pt shot for 3 months just to show up his coach after he dared demand 1 3 pt attempt a game. Or that time he sat out 5 months cause people didn't say nice stuff about him.

Best of luck.
