From last year, there is a player I expect to have an 8+ year career as a bench NBA big: Luka Garza.

He has a definable NBA skill. He can score and he is a wide load. He is the kind of 10-12th man you expect on a Jazz-type contending roster. I don't think he is a good fit on this roster, but this kid is going to be seen as a draft steal in 5 years.

A clear 12 mpg, 60 games played per season type player.

Jonathan Kuminga is very intriguing. Physically the guy has Star written all over him if he can put it all together and has the work ethic. Saddiq Bey I think has that same potential and both guys I think may be star level guys in 3 years.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Bey is the guy I wanted Orl to take if we didn't trade up for Hali.

I always look out for kids who got tall late. Bey as a youngster played point and then grew to wing size. Guys like that are way ahead of the curve and you know they're not just playing BB because they're tall, it's because they love it and have developed craft.

Players like that can come into the league and make an immediate impact, plus start to add a lot of nuanced stuff to their games that will elevate them in time. Meanwhile the naturally tall guys who took up ball late are still learning how to pass, dribble and shoot.

Bey isn't a top tier athlete but Wings who can do stuff off the dribble, initiate some, shoot and defend will always be worth investing in.

RJ Barrett interests me. The Knicks are imploding. If they are ready to blow it up I’m ready to talk picks for RJ.

I don’t understand why some are you are talking about Simmons. He is the anointed future in Portland. They have already made trades to ensure he is their guy. It ain’t happening with him. Scratch him off your list for the next few years.

I’m always keeping tabs on former draft prospects that interested me. Giddey, Mann, Ayo, Sengun, Trae Murphy and Sharife Cooper are the main ones from this last draft.

NAW, Kira Lewis, Vassell, Haliburton, Bey, Bane, Simons and Markkannen are some names I keep tabs on from other recent drafts. Probably others I’m forgetting.

next degree of nuts is when Vassell or Kispert or Zaire have an occasional big game, I tell myself the price just went up for ORL to get them.

Still true…shooting wings all day. We really need one or two now

I fully endorse making a play for Vassell.

For Suggs though? Suggs could be better

I find it hard to believe that WeHamm would trade Suggs for a project SG. But Anthony works as a name, and I would like very much a Vassell for Anthony swap.

I'm probably beating this to death but he's a real answer...he could give us a lot of what Jabari promised. Maybe not the level of defense but big-time pull up shooting and moving without the ball. With Banchero's gravity - wow! Sarver is notoriously cheap despite having his young team dominate the regular season...after he gets shamed into paying Ayton, they might look for a less visible, less painful way to not overspend. They've paid Booker, Bridges, CP is getting PAID, now Ayton (likely) and Cam is coming up for an extension. Cam is a great candidate to get slightly overpaid due to his trajectory...we should jump in. He could be our Rashard Lewis of this era, IMO.

Vassell would also be great. I can't imagine SAS would be receptive...but they are shopping Murray and perhaps considering the big rebuild, so Vassell's trade value might trump his keep value (especially with them drafting 3 more wings to an already overcrowded roster). I'd happily send Cole and a protected first...or a couple of firsts...or, I hate to say it, Suggs.

Me too. There are always other players I want the Magic to target who I end up following as much as the Magic, with many similar names on the list. For the past couple of seasons a lot have ended up on the same teams as OKC and Houston gobble up the youth. I particularly love OKCs lineup at the moment and the unique blend of players they have.
