Love him as a SG. He’s 100% not a PG though. Him next to RJ would be electric considering his 3P % has gone way up this season compared to his freshman year and his first step is phenomenal. We still need our PG though… if we could get Brunson in FA, draft Ivey and have our first 2 off the bench be Grimes and Cam…. I’d be a happy camper

I do have my concerns about the fit w/ RJ since both are primarily slashers, neither the great at perimeter shot creation (Ivey has a push shot), so the other pieces around them would have to be perfect. would need to surround them w/ shooting (wouldn't love the Brunson fit)
I'm actually intrigued w/ Ivey's fit at PG. I agree he's ideally a SG, but in the right situation, IMO, he can handle the point. he's shown glimpses of being a good passer. Ivey and RJ are at their best w/ the ball in their hands, so they'd have 2 ball-handlers in the lineup that can get to the rim/collapse the defense at will + both are solid passers

Ivey averages the assists he does because of dump offs to Edey or Trevion are sitting at the rim. While this bares well for Mitch, he’s not creating for others. But agreed that both him and RJ are better with the ball in their hand. But I WOULD, argue both have increased their ability to catch and shoot throughout their careers so far which has been pleasant to see.
If I saw Johnny Davis in a Knick uniform, I would NOT complain either. Seems more likely who would be there for us around 6-10. Kid can SCORE

Great!!! Another unathletic player that plays below the rim. This guy looks like he is a clone of IQ.
That's what they said about SGA coming out of Kentucky too. In recent history Kentucky guards looks more than ready to play in the NBA, coach Cal makes his guards play in his system not showing everything they can do. I haven't watched much college this year but Tyty might be a sleeper.

SGA got screwed by the awful spacing Kentucky had that year. He looked great attack the rim, but his low 3pt attempts and funky mid range shooting worried people (but the midrange numbers had more to do with him having inconsistent footwork on pulls up, and his NBA numbers have been good so far).
Tyty for me just doesn't stand out anywhere, expect maybe his midrange. He seems solid everywhere and maybe that will make him a starter in some scenarios, but it feels like he could just as easily end up a solid back up at best. If he was better at getting to the rim I'd like him a lot more for us. Atm I'd be happy to take him but I'd rather take a swing on someone like Dyson Daniels who looks like a better passer and even if he doesn't end up a full time point guard he's great defensively 1 through 3.

Kennedy Chandler looked like Garland 2.0 vs Kentucky last night. Clearly looked like the best player on the court. He played well for team USA this offseason. Shot has improved game by game and his passing game has been very impressive. If we somehow get top 4 pick and end up with Paolo or Jabari, I’d look to move Randle for top 10-12 pick this year and a 2023 (top 5 protected I’d assume) pick (if we could get that).
Chandler / Rose / McBride
Grimes / Fournier / IQ
RJ / Cam / Burks
Jabari / Obi
Mitch / Noel / Sims

I NEED 1 of Jabari or Ivey
dream scenario: get lucky in draft (top 2), trade Randle for a lotto pick, use that pick + Obi, IQ, Rokas, 2023 Mavs pick to move up and snag both Jabari and Ivey

You guys know I watch every UK game, personally I don’t think he’s been all that great, I liked the idea of taking him 15-20 but now that the Knicks are top 10 bound I would look another direction
Personally I think the franchise needs a miracle and the only real Hail Mary pass I see is hoping Shaedon sharpe declares for the draft and then either winning the lotto, hoping he falls to 8/9, or trading up. And then hoping he’s a franchise savior. I dunno if he’ll be good but he’s an unknown and nobody in the draft who has played screams franchise savior to me. So yeah, go all in on sharpe

Would really love the idea of adding Paolo with RJ. They could have a Jaylen Brown/Tatum thing going on. Love his size and fluidity combo. Not worried about the 31% from 3. That form is damn near perfect with a high release. Playmaking has ticked up recently as well. I think he has number 1 scorer on a good team potential. With a creative coach I think you could make him/Julius/RJ all work in the same lineups.

Holmgren's percentages and advanced stats are absurd.

I can see this team dropping as low as 7th pick. I kinda don't want Thibs fired or anything to change because...then I would bet my life we finish top 7.

I feel like this is the right thread for this question. Does being out of the play in games guarantee the bottom 10 for the Knicks or would they still stick to the overall record regardless of the play-in game outcomes?

I don't know how to feel about TyTy
I do think, while I can see a bit of the IQ comps, it falls apart for me because TyTy's biggest strength is his mid range pull up, which is still nonexistant for IQ
He absolutely needs to get better at getting past guys and attacking the rim, and while his c&s 3 pointer is fine, his pull up 3 needs work
I haven't seen enough to comment on his playmaking and defense, but unless he's elite on D, I don't know if I'd take him before 9 or 10.
