This might sound dumb, but the reason I love the Switch is because I get to play games like Skyrim, NBA, and other classics anywhere. I think I'm going to get the Steamdeck for this same reason.

I've been playing Skyrim in bed the last month and I love it. Don't even need mods, just bed Skyrim.

Edit: Just put the $5 deposit down through Steam. I'm going to get the 512GB NVMe SSD.

Picked up KoF XV. I’ll probably be trash, but it seems like a good middle ground between an anime air dasher and something really footsie based like Street Fighter (which also might be getting a new game announcement on Sunday). Hoping it can compliment playing Strive.

Side note, what was the video Sober posted near the end of the last thread? It had a copyright strike from Bandai Namco.

Possible opening cinematic for Elden Ring.

Have you been playing HFW? I broke down and got it when Cyberpunk's update wasn't nearly enough to get me to play it a third time.

Saw you were on even though you said you were going to hold off :D Yep, I got to the first settlement after taking way too long in the prologue, then exploring the area as much as possible before heading to the settlement. I've speced pure infiltrator so far, will be expanding to the archery tree next.

Even with every publication saying how good the game is, I'm still kinda shocked with how much I've been liking it. It's so great.

I don't know where I'm at in the story but I'm at level 8 and haven't spent any of the XP points. Don't really know how I want to play yet.

I am going to waste an absolutely stupid amount of time with Machine Strike. Reminds me of Into the Breach.

I love my life and all, but sometimes I wish I could teleport to an alternate universe where I was single and lived alone and all I ever did was play all the games I want whenever I want for as long as I want.

So Forbidden West is a slog. Literally RDR2 on the opposite of crack. Cause it's slow.

I never played RDR2 so I might be missing context here. But HFW, the prologue is definitely slow. If you're stuck there now though I'd say just push through, because once you're past it I guess it seems just like any other open world game in terms of pacing. They're all the same to me in that regard, I guess. Maybe it's different if you actually just play through the story?

I hated RDR2. This, to me at least, hasn't seemed anything like that (outside of as MIG said, the needlessly long prologue).

It's more of that the main story seems like you are repeating the same stuff over and over with each new tribe you meet. I think I want more of
Spoiler:
the world is ending stuff and less tribal council affair issues
.

Ah, see there's the difference. You actually progress the story. I run around the world aimlessly collecting ****, then do a story mission once every 10 hours  I do have like 7 glowing green crystals which I have no idea what to do with, though.

Just got done playing through Wasteland 3 with all available DLC again, I love that game so much. Thinking about picking up HFW but I never finished the first one because I don't remember it ever being all that appealing to me. Most seem to love this new one, though.

I played until my controller died. I know I could plug it in and keep going, but it was a good opportunity to be a human and eat  Watching some AS weekend now before jumping back in. Finally on my way to the embassy! Level 9, got specced into the archery tree much more, and also took some of the healing ones. Got my armor, hunter bow, and sharpshooter bow fully leveled.

Both the first and now HFW have very satisfying combat. The universe of the game is intriguing and the growth of Aloy as a character has been great. I'd like a little bit more I-frames during dodging but the health recovery system helps.

Started Zero Dawn last night. Amazing how well the graphics hold up. I’ll put a few hours in this week for sure, fun game so far.
