We Have LeafsTV, RaptorsTV, Why Not BlueJaysTV?

Post#1 » by Sai Young » Mon Apr 9, 2007 7:44 pm

i mean its owned by rogers
rogers can get that down
out of the 3 teams
we had the most success
in championship
if the raptors have tv then we should
then we could start airing games on their
that would encourage more people to get digicable
im surprised this hasnt happened

It's called Rogers Sportsnet, they already play a majority of the games, and Rogers is being smart by playing the games on channels that are accessible to everyone with the basic cable package.

That way if the Jays get hot towards the end of the season and people want to watch them, they don't need to worry about getting an extra channel, it's already included as part of their existing package.

BlueJays TV would only be worthwhile if a lot of minor league and development stuff were aired - things we couldn't normally see without it.

Why would you want a seperate channel that you have to pay for? Have you seen the crazyness that goes on on the Raptors Board for online stream because people dont have RaptorsTV. Rogers was smart enough to make the game available to everyone with basic cable.

They should put all that extra blue jays stuff on instead of crap like poker.

Does MLB have their own channel like the NHL and NBA because I do not see the Jays having their own channel if the whole league does not even have one yet.

Wilner on the Fan is good to listen to after the game. Though it would be nice to have some video post-game footage and not have to watch hockey central part 5 right after.

speaking of Raptors TV, should we be lucky that it even exists? I mean, do all teams have their own channel? WolvesTV? GrizzliesTV?

I don't think a JaysTV channel is such a bad idea. JaysTV wouldn't have to air any live games. They could play classic Jays games (or replays), have discussions, recaps, pre and post game shows, maybe non-Blue Jay games on off-nights and they could definitely have delayed skychief games on weekday afternoons. In fact, the elaborate minor league system in baseball would probably make a Channel dedicated almost entirely to one team more feasible.

They should just put jays classics on Sportsnet Ontario. They have a lot of useless junk on that station, I bet classic jays games would outrate most of their shows.

Yeah, why not? complete the trifecta ... Blue Jays TV could also show games of teams we rarely see, ie. the Mets ... but Sportsnet has pretty good Jays coverage as it is, I'm really liking the new Jays Connected show, with their behind-the-scenes access format.
