I don't know a lot about the 76ers tbh, but I have seen JH play in over 1,000 games. Will be nice to see a team that actually has some support around him, where he isn't double teamed every other possession. Looking forward to seeing what the best duo in the NBA has to offer going forward. GL!
I’m the same. James is a national treasure to us Rockets/harden fans

Interesting, were you guys Houston fans and fell in love with Harden, or have you been solely committed to Harden since he entered the league/ascended to MVP tier?
Now that I think about it. As an European fan (non-Philly resident), I probably have more affection with Embiid than the Sixers at this point, so I can imagine that others have a similar thing for Harden.

Embiid and Maxey are such treasures. Fully appreciating Harden and trying to learn from him makes Harden immediately committed to this group. You can see a culture growing that will have a positive effect on our young guys.
Am still really interested to see what Harden will do when Embiid has the ball in the post. Some footage from the gym showed Harden practicing some curls from the strong side, would be fantastic if he's willing to move off the ball.

I can only speak for myself I was a rockets fan first but after harden single handedly put us back on the map again after a few years of being average( nothing as bad as currently) I started appreciating his greatness

Sometimes it is as simple as that. Now it is important Harris and Maxey will embrace the same mindset.

Everyone is about to get a very defined role next week. No more PG Green or Harris. Tobias better learn to be C&S real quick.

I love it. Harden is clearly a student of the game and studies opponents' tendencies. Part of what has made him so great, and now he's imparting that knowledge to our guys. Maxey died and went to heaven having this guy to learn from.

People were dead-set that Maxey was a bum and incapable of being a starter and now he's a literal Building Block.
People were dead-set on all types of stuff... Harris is a bum with the world's worst contract and now he's literally and figuratively not just one of the Locker Room Leaders, he's the ideal F alongside Embiid, Harden, Maxey and Thybulle ... Thybulle is a bum who can't be a starter and now he's only a premier lock-down Defender and starter and great locker-room guy...
And oh yeah we got James mf'ing Harden, the most explosive player in the game...
And now the sky is the limit...

Re: Welcome James Harden!
I'm encouraged by the effect Harden seemed to have on other players from the bench last night. I suspect he took stock of what happened against Boston and realized he needed to insert himself into the equation in that manner, after sitting far more idly by two nights prior and watching a debacle unfold.
Let's hope that translates to an assimilation into the team on the floor in which he has a similar effect. The team needs to feel like he's invested in the Sixers and not just viewing them as his "next stop" in the NBA.

If Harden's presence has the effect of making Maxey play more aggressively, and what he did last night is the typical result, that'll make quite the difference.

I appreciated his drive to win and willingness to carry an often injured team on his back. He also makes other players better around him. The things he has been criticized about are often overstated, he is someone who won’t accept players not buying in and he doesn’t just look the other way, he challenges it and draws lines. I understand being passive aggressive is a bad look but I'am sure this is his reaction after direct channels fail. He has certain quirks and can get into funks but the one thing I would never question is his desire to win. A motivated Harden on a fully committed team is going to be awesome to watch. Nets allowed a serious problem to fester when they catered to their stars demands, starting with a culture based on not even needing a coach. Imagine how that attitude perkulated through the locker room. There’s a reason why James said he wants a good coach and is open to learning and building with one when he first got here. This is not even Nash’s fault, he was a figurehead elected by them that had zero NBA head coaching experience. He was handicapped right out of the gate by a certain player and Durant allowed it.

The whole thing will hinge on whether the team perceives Harden is invested in it and not just viewing it as his "next stop" in the league, and whether that investment in the team translates to the elevation of the games of players like Maxey, Harris, and some of the role players like Niang. If that's happening then you have a true veteran leader on the floor and a winning culture can take shape from that.
Again I was encouraged by what appeared to be the "seeds" of that last night. Again let's hope that translates when Harden is on the floor and there is just one ball for everyone to possess, including him.

This is where he wanted to be. I watched his press release from last year and they point blank asked him if the Nets were his first choice and he said he had another interest as well. It's right there on YouTube. Fertitta indeed pushed the trade to the Nets. One could argue that it was simply a better deal the Nets gave but there’s enough evidence that Harden wanted to build with Doc and Morey. What’s funny is the reason the Nets wanted Harden was they didn’t trust Kyrie’s availability. Harden found that out to be a real thing first hand. Not injury related either, basketball is just his side gig in life. Without Kyrie available due to personal reasons and then with Durant out extended periods Harden found himself carrying a team again. Nash ran him into the ground. He’s a 33 year old star. Anyways. This is his stop, it’s the one he wanted. Look at what he did for the Rockets. We will see something special here, I know it.

Apologies I didn't realise this was your board.
It's a board for Sixers fans, not Ben apologists, who like to come and serve us sour milk about the direction of the franchise and don't seem to have anything of value to add.
Seems to be alot of 12 yo's here as well

Says a lot about your behavior, when you're often the one acting juvenile.
