Gives us ability to replace him with full MLE (Covington?) and a massive trade exception while getting under the tax.

The Tobias trades get tricky to assess. Several involve cap space and trade exceptions that may amount to a player who is worse than Tobias. While Tobias is flawed, we need as much firepower as possible to have a chance. However, over two or three years, we could possibly use the trade exception and some mid level signings to build a stronger team without Harris.

Moving Harris would take some patience to replace him, I guess.

Once Harris becomes an expiring he is not only a lot more movable but the players we can move him for is massively expanded

To the Harris expiring point, Tobias hits free agency at the same time as KAT, Devin Booker, Jaylen Brown, Sabonis, Siakam, and Dejounte Murray. Some of those guys will probably sign extensions by then but a max cap slot could be really valuable that year.

I'm hopeful we can dump him for minimal cost this summer.

Of the 5 teams w/cap, most or all will "strike out" on the top guys. Hopefully one of them accepts 2 years of Tobias for "free" as a nice consolation prize.

Dumping him gives us flexibility we desperately need to reshape the roster around our big 3 of Embiid/Harden/Maxey.

Cam Reddish: 1 year, $5.9m remaining
Terence Davis: 1 year, $4m remaining

Top two trade targets this summer.

Cam Reddish playing lockdown defense on one end and then bombing away from three, being assisted by Harden/Embiid would be incredibly fun to watch.

Reddish/Green best 3&D role player duo in the NBA.

The Knicks aren't going to trade Reddish. They're using him to lure Zion into forcing a trade to New York, when he threatens to turn down the rookie extension this Summer.

Wow, I never even put that together but that's totally what they're doing.

POR is not angling for cap space to acquire Tobias Harris.

You can consider him as a consolation prize once you strike out on everyone else, as always.

Wouldn’t want to deny PHI 1/3 of your big 3

Maxey is the 3rd. We're feeling generous so POR can have Harris to form your own Big 3.

POR must regretfully decline. Tobias Harris loves PHI with her rich history and book culture and who can blame him.

Maybe the Blazers can get Evan Turner to come out of retirement and take another 72 million deal from y'all...

Isn’t Harris getting paid twice ET money?

He’s probably five times as good, though.

Hope so.

ET has been retired for a couple years and was pretty bad when still active.
