Doesn't matter if it was an actual punch or not because clearly it incited that entire situation that followed. Totally inexcusable.

Michigan was getting blown out with about a minute or so to go. Howard still had Michigan running a full court press defense. Gard called a timeout with about a minute to go to coach up his bench guys on how to break the press. Howard got pissed that Gard called a timeout in that situation.

lol that Wisconsin assistant got really brave after it was broken up and he was about 30 feet away from Howard though. Throwing out a degeneration-x chop

Howard was classless as a player and now that he is old it looks even worse.

I'm sure he was provoked but obviously you can't resort to physical violence.

Damn what a sore loser. Not the kind of guy you want in a leadership position.

Anybody playing that down is stupid. For a head coach to do that and start a fight between teams in unacceptable. There should be a harsh punishment.

He was pissed the opposing coach called a timeout late in the game while up big.

But the reason he called the timeout was because Howard was playing press defense. So the opposing coach called a timeout to coach up his bench players. So in Howard's mind its totally cool for him to coach up his team and have them play hard the entire time, but not the opposing team.

Also lets not forget, this isnt the first time something like this has happened with Howard. Howard got ejected last year and had to be held back multiple times as he tried to charge the opposing team during a timeout.

I like Howard, but he **** up here...I wouldn't be shocked if they fired him. I don't think they should though. Just should give him a good suspension

My Jackets played WI this season. I couldn't imagine having to play against that insufferable bunch more than once.

That said, the HC can't be the instigator of all that. Hasn't Howard had a couple odd incidents this year?

Howard acted like a punk and a sore loser. You gotta show more leadership than that as head coach.

Haha Howard going full blown clown in the press conference. "it wasn't a press, it was just a pressure defense" Haha someone needs to tell him what press is short for.

Again if he wanted the game to just run out, dont press, or excuse me let me use his terms, dont play 5 man pressure defense with your starters against the opposing team's backups. If youre doing that as a coach, that means youre still coaching up your players and playing hard. So dont get mad when the opposing coach calls a timeout to coach up his backups on how to break a press defense.

Wisconsin called a meaningless timeout in a huge blowout. And no he won't be fired he's coming off a Final Four.

Watched it live. Completely inexcusable from a Head Coach. And for such a dumb reason. He should be canned.

Same Juwan Howard who ended Derek Anderson’s season in the 2001 Playoffs with a dirty foul. Some people never change.

I don't support this but I understand...

Howard, Michigan, calling senseless time out... Bring back memories. Juwan saw bald head and mistook that coach for C-Webb.

Howard is not head coach material.

How can he possibly discipline or hold any of his own players accountable when he can't even behave like a civil adult himself?

I understand Juwan's violent outrage here. The other coach called a timeout. A TIMEOUT! I mean, think of the children!
