Anyone watch Old Henry? Wow, what a movie.

Anybody have any overlooked gem movies? Not just like "I like his movie and don't hear people talking about it", but "This is one of my favorite movies, I **** love it."

For me, whenever one of those favorite movies memes go around, this is always one of the first that come to mind:

I am generally a Jarmusch fan, but this one is head and shoulders above all his other work, imo. A masterpiece that hasn't aged a single bad day since it came out.

Jarmusch holds high currency in the house of Chones. "SFWM" has been a go-to utterance for me when things go sideways thanks to the ruling caste. Comes in handy a lot, ngl.

"Clockwatchers" continues to be an underwatched personal fave. Didn't hurt that I originally caught it while in the midst of working a string of temployment assignments. So 90s it hurts, with its low-stakes plot, microscopic budget and obligatory Parker Posey role, but I do have a fondness for those little movies from back then.

Never saw this one. I see it's on HBO Max and with no NBA until Thursday I'll likely give it a watch.

That and Ghost Dog have been on my watch list for an eternity. I should get to them sometime soon; I've liked the other Jarmusch movies I've seen. In terms of overlooked movies, I think "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" is a masterpiece. It's gained a bit of a cult following since it's release, but still probably overlooked by people. For classic film - "The Little Foxes."

I liked the Jesse James movie. Even though you know how it turns out it was fun to see how they get there. I've been to the home where he was killed. The bullet hole is still there of course. Larger than original because people carved shavings from it (you can't do that now).

It’s a stupid comedy, but Almost Heroes, starring Chris Farley and Matthew Perry (and Eugene Levy looking nothing like himself as a Native American translator) is one of my favorite silly comedies ever. I can recite pretty much the entire thing line for line.

“Three Kings” I think its called? Clooney and Walberg and Ice Cube. That movie pops on cable from time to time and I also have the DVD (but no dvd player anymore). Awesome forgotten movie.

I don't believe I have

Edit: just looked it up and I'm in. Not sure how I missed that back then.

Early Soderbergh tale of revenge with Terrance Stamp pelting LA with bodies.

Literally have the poster up as often as not.

Yeah I was sold at Terrance Stamp.

I really have no idea how I missed it at the time.

The Limey rules.

Sweet cameo from the guy that played Clint on Dazed and Confused
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Oldboy is probably only movie I involuntary stood up and said "oh ****" in a theater. Awesome movie.

Man from nowhere knife fight had me clenching my hands involuntary. One of the best choreographed fights I had seen. I've probably been desensitized since but at the time.
