The Nets were healthy for like 10 games that season though.threethehardway wrote:og15 wrote:That applies to too many teams though, durability is part of the game, bubble isn't, and Giannis himself got injured in that playoff run and wasn't really back to himself until game 2 of the finals.
Giannis got lucky lets be real. He would've been swept by the Nets if they stayed healthy. He would've choked against the Nets if KD pinky toe wasn't on the line. He would've been eliminated by the Hawks if Trae didn't get a fluke injury.
The Bucks lucked their way to the Finals until they faced the Suns.
Giannis didn't prove anything besides being lucky is better than being good.
Trae got a fluke injury and Giannis missed the last two games of the series with injury, not sure why that's being considered an advantage for him and his team, both teams had injury to their best player.
You need both, it's not like the Bucks weren't also good, but yes, luck is always beneficial. The Nets did accumulate players who have had injury issues, a player coming off a major injury was the one that stayed the healthiest, and then an overweight over 30 Harden with a hamstring issue.
