This isn't even close to Favre. Recency bias is a thing, but dang let's keep it in perspective.

You gotta be in some pretty serious denial to say this is nothing like the Favre situation.
On topic: I feel like Aaron goes out of his way to make himself more unlikable and unrelatable every time he opens his mouth or makes a social media post. Just a queef in every sense of the word.

Again im all for bringing the tram back but i absolutely would releve MLF of his PC duties come playoff time.
If however rodgers does want out im looking to denver and have read different articles where 2 1sts 2 2nds jeudy n either fant or chubb if thats the offer im jumping on that.
As for adams i would tag him n trade him for another 1st n 2nd

It was always assumed it was a 2 year deal when it was signed. He'll have to restructure again next year or get cut (still a $9.5 cap hit).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's literally Favre 2.0
I remember when Favre said he had some big announcement to make at his golf outing one year. Made it seem like he was going to announce if he was retiring or not. It ended up being something totally unrelated and he didn't answer anything related to football. These guys love the spotlight and will do everything possible to stay in it.
And suckers like us feed into it. I sat there all day waiting for that Favre announcement.
How is this like the Favre fiasco? Rodgers never said anything about making an announcement.
What's happening with Rodgers is NOTHING compared to what Favre pulled his last few years here. Not even close.
-Both came into a situation where most of the fanbase didn't want them there. Most fans didn't want Favre because we already had Majik man, and most didn't want Rodgers (sound familiar to those who don't want Love?)
-Both struggled HORRIBLY early but eventually showed a glimpse (Favre vs Cincy, Rodgers vs Dallas)
-Both won one Superbowl, right around the same time in their careers after one big time free agent acquisition (Woodson/Reggie)
-Both had a huge downfall (Favre throwing it up for grabs, Rodgers take unnecessary sacks holding on the ball too long instead of just dumping it off)
-Both found that 1 GREAT WR they threw too way much and actually ended up hurting the team (Favre to Sharpe, Rodgers to Driver), although one was early in his career and the other was late
-Both had some of the best regular seasons in NFL history and time and again sh** the bed in the playoffs
-If this is Rodgers' final season, both had a perfect opportunity to win in the FREEZING cold Lambeau in the playoffs and could only manage one touchdown in their final games (one lost 23 to 20, and the other lost 13-10...very similar scores)
-Both decided they wanted to become the GM at the end of their careers (Favre wanting Moss, Mariucci...etc, Rodgers wanting Cobb, Jordy, Kumerow and complaining about letting other guys go which actually was the smart move except for two of the 25 players he mentioned)
-Both declined for a year or two, watched their coach get fired, had an heir apparent drafted in the first round only to step their game up towards the end of their career (could it be a new coach? could it be the new guy being drafted lit a fire under their a**?)
-Both ended up killing our cap towards the end of their careers and watched other QBs taking team-friendly deals to win more Superbowls (Brady both times)
-and now Rodgers, just like Favre is playing games....making goodbye posts then going on McAfee show saying it was all about nothing
Their careers are so intertwined it has to be more than a coincidence. I am sure there is more I am missing, but this is so ironic in my opinion. You have to admit, this feels like Groundhog Day in a way. I would say I hope it ends better, but if it gives us another 15 years of great QB play from Love I will take it.

I'll never understand how people don't see the irony between the Favre/Rodgers situations. It is so incredibly in your face the way this is playing out.

So did I hear he’s looking for in the ballpark of 50mil? If that’s the initial offer, that ends up on the floor and I start sifting through trade offers

This interview. She said he wants to be the highest paid 'by a wide margin'.

I'd kick Gute to the curb if they did that.

Re: Packers 2022 Offseason Thread - Clark/Jones Restructured
It’s time to move on. Can’t pay two guys a combined 67 years in age 80 million a year. Just stupid. We are already derailing our future handing out all these void years it’s ridiculous. We will be a worse team next year even with Rodgers the odds of winning it all are incredibly small.
I’d rather play for the future even though there’s no guarantees going down that road either. However I’d take my chances with picks for Rodgers and Adams and see where the ball bounces.

Yep, mortgaging the future to put a great team out there never works. Neither does signing a big name high risk WR during the season who might disturb your chemistry. Much better to have a crappy #2 receiver and blame your Hall of Fame QB and say he only throws to one guy.
Except this year. And last year.

Especially with that awful contract we gave to Bakhtiari. That's over 50% of the cap into three players. I get that you can move money around, but eventually, you have to pay. We went for it all this year, it didn't work....time to move on. Get what you can for these guys and let's hope for the best.

If this is true, he is basically saying "trade me."
If we make him the highest paid QB in the NFL that is already dumb. BY A WIDE MARGIN? No thanks

More rings really must not matter much to Aaron, if that's true.

I would have traded him last draft. But I also thought the Packers were going to have a down year and his trade value so I was wrong there.
I've flipped and now I hope he's back even if it means going into complete cap hell in the future. But thats for completely selfish reasons, I live in AZ and the super bowl is out here next year so I'll take the punchers chance they make it.
