You mean, other than the fact that Ukraine is led by Nazis and a Jewish president?

I must say I'm thoroughly impressed by Russia's propaganda arm on the internet, how it made it's way to a Knicks message board is incredible.

Russia transacts 46 billion per day via the international banking system. 80% of those are done in USD. Russia’s economy will be crippled shortly. Putin’s dirty fortune to a large extent is routed through oligarch accounts. If Ukraine does not fall quickly, then even Putin’s ability to finance military activities may be an issue as well.

We have our share of suckers just like everywhere else
What’s so impressive is how they get both right and left leaning factions to do their bidding. Remember how many leftists were eager to call Biden Sleepy Joe? It’s all Kremlin scripting.

It's really nuts to me. But it's been done before. Look at Marine Le Penn.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39478066
In 2014, the National Front took Russian loans worth €11m (£9.4m). One of the loans, for €9m, came from a small bank, First Czech Russian Bank, with links to the Kremlin.
The loan was brokered by Jean-Luc Schaffhauser, an energy consultant turned MEP, who has called himself "Mr Mission Impossible".
When I met him in Strasbourg, he told me he initially secured an agreement with a financial institution in Abu Dhabi, but the deal fell through. He even approached a potential lender in Iran, but Marine Le Pen vetoed the idea, he said. Eventually, he went to Russia.
The negotiations over the loan coincided with Russia's annexation of Crimea. EU governments condemned the annexation. Marine Le Pen publicly took the opposite view, leading some to question whether the loans were a quid-pro-quo.

Yep. So my question to you is why Russia needs to run all this misinformation to justify its war if Ukraine is supposedly oppressing all their minorities?

Well, you wanted me to stop quoting you. You made a claim that Ukraine was not a victim, that they were oppressing their minorities. I merely pointed out that Russia basically had to justify its war based on "Naziism" (despite the irony of Ukraine having an elected Jewish president) because it apparently felt like that excuse wasn't going to fly with their populace. If you don't want people to call you out on that, then don't post. Or go to that new Trump platform or whatever.

So let me get this straigh, you say I claimed Ukraine is not a victim by directly quoting me saying Ukraine is a victim, you called Zelensky a "Jew" in a belitteling manner, but I'm the Trumper here, who is not even living on the same continent as him? Did you have a hard day at work friend?

I was having a good day until I saw how you were defending Russian aggression. Then it turned into a bad day! Let’s look at the exact quote cause I’m not gonna get gaslighted here:
KnicksGadfly wrote:gavran wrote:On the other hand, let's not paint Ukraine as good guys, just because they are now the victims of an invasion. The abhorrent language law they passed a couple of years ago is them oppressing their minorities. One of the many many reason Putin decided to attack.
You mean, other than the fact that Ukraine is led by Nazis and a Jewish president?
1. “Let’s not point Ukraine as the good guys … oppressing their minorities” - does this not parrot Putin’s past propaganda that he used to annex other sovereign nations and territories? Are you referring to a language law that was trying to strengthen Ukrainian national identity in the midst of Russian aggression? Does this justify Ukraine getting invaded?
2. Can you explain why Putin had to make shat up about Ukraine being run by Nazis if all these Ukrainians were oppressing their minorities? Wouldn’t that already by enough justification? Why did Putin have to lie to his populace so much? Also note what a lie that was, considering Ukraine elected a Jewish president.
3. I also didn’t use the word Jew, and I certainly didn’t use the word Jewish in a derogatory manner. I’m not gonna debate this one further since you’re trying to distract from the topic, which is points 1 and 2.

Quite conveniantly deleted this part "just because they are now the victims of an invasion". No, I'm referring to the language law, that constrains Hungarians' the right to use their own language, that takes away their right to get an eduction on their own language beyond the 4th grade on the land where they have lived for centuries before Ukraine was even a concept. You know they are minorities in Ukraine that are not Russian, right? I guess forceful Ukrainization is a thing to celebrate for you, but I have friends, and family of friends there.

Ask Putin, if you want to know it that much.

Glad to see you backtrack on this one. I will do you a favour and pretend it is actually true.

Re: OT: Russia-Ukraine War
I predict this invasion will eventually be bad news for the American Republican Party due to so much of their past funding having come from Russia money funnels routed through American SuperPACS.
Some of those issues were already under the microscope partly due to the NY State probe into the NRA which very clearly was taking on dirty money from the Kremlin to fund political campaigns.
There’s more to say about that, but I’ll limit it to the implications from the invasion of the Ukraine. Because Putin actively launders so much money internationally, the actions being enacted now to disenfranchise the use of SWIFT routing for him and his oligarchs will now provoke more conversations and potential investigations into how money flows out of Russia into foreign accounts.
The GOP has taken dirty Kremlin money for years now which is why you see so much pro-Russian BS coming out of their mouths. The probes into Trump are accelerating and this disruption of the Russian banking system may shine fresh light on these connections as it makes perfect sense now for the DOJ to go after dirty Russian funding after they cut them off at the knees in the banking system.

Don't need favors from a Russian apologist. Like I said, my offer stands. No more propaganda from you, no more quoting from me.

Fück Russia. How is that for propaganda? Maybe next time you develop some reading comprehension, before you start throwing around strawman arguments. This is my deal for you.
