1. You don’t need four separate posts.

2. A fresh team vs a team on back 2 back always has an advantage. You know the #1 area where tired legs make an impact? Three point shooting.

3. Light years ahead is a huge stretch. Even with a terrible shooting night it took a lot of help from the refs to break this game open.

4. Harden will be 33 this summer and has not opted in. This means he has all the leverage in the world. He will force a 4 year super max and they will be paying him around 60 mil by the time he turns 36. Not exactly a win.

Don't feed the troll.

dude it’s not even a close we brought a knife to a gun fight and got totally outclassed. They have Morey for a GM - he will make the necessary moves the next six or seven years of Joel Embiid’s prime.

The same Morey who managed to let the Simmons mess get out of hand then trade for Harden before he opted in. Good luck. As for us not being close, you either didn’t watch the game or are trolling.
Get out of hand? By not accepting McDaniels and 2nd round picks? Instead waiting and getting a top 5 player in the league? Yeah it really got out of hand.

I am guessing this is your other account Doug. Yeah, getting a often injured diminished Harden for 5 more years at a super max is gonna tank your window. You could have gotten a solid return on Simmons and extended your window by years. Instead you sold the farm for what 2 or 3 years of hoping both Embiid and Harden stay healthy and can get something done. Good luck to you.

No idea who Doug is lol.

Stars win in the NBA, not "solid returns" but I'm sure you know that.

The only reason sixers fans come over here is because we were told for months how the borderline rotation players offered by the wolves would be the best offer Philly would ever get. And it turns out Morey was right the whole time.

Have a good one.

Doug is the guy you quoted in response to me. I was against the trade proposals because I think Simmons is a bad fit here. Finally, Stars do win games, but in 3 years Harden won’t be a star just like Westbrook isn’t now, and who knows how Embiid’s knees hold up. You needed to get someone young and healthy, instead you traded for a super max guy famous for partying instead of working out. A guy who has forced his way off 2 teams in 2 years. Worse still you gave a sharpshooting Curry, a respectable backup C behind the injury prone Embiid and two firsts (the later of which will probably be very good,) for a 32 year old showing signs of decline. Good luck with that.

Yep. Like I said young and healthy. Give it 2-3 years they will be demanding Morey be fired and Harden be sold at half the price they paid.

I see Harden aging much better than some people think. Westbrooks game was built on his elite athleticism. He was bound to age like milk. Harden already plays an old man game. He should be able to keep it up like Chris Paul. I trust Morey to be able to retool around those 2 each year.

Might the last year or 2 of Hardens deal look bad when we get there? Maybe. But it's still worth it for this opportunity.

Like you said there's no guarantee Embiid is playing at this level for a long time. So going for it now is the right play.

Your argument would hold up better if Harden’s numbers were holding up. Check out basketball reference if you don’t believe me. Also note that your cap is going to be high tax moving forward. Not so much this year, but next year and especially after the extension kicks in. I did some checking and last year you guys were tax payers. That means 2 out of the last 3 years going into next season. Repeater tax is gonna be steep and if the team isn’t performing it might force a blow up. This is crazy high risk and frankly you need to get past some serious competition in the east this year. Do you really think you can take the Bucks, or Bulls, or healthy Nets, or even the Heat? Don’t get me wrong you guys have talent, but championship level, I just don’t see it.

Edit to add: Embiid has missed 340 games and played in 306. He has only two seasons playing more than 60 games. Harden isn’t going to be able to carry the load alone and losing Curry and Drummond really hurt. Millsap isn’t what he used to be.

Character? Their culture?

Over the last nine months, we have gotten more posters from their fanbase invade our board with negative posts than all other fanbases combined. Their mods don’t do anything about it, and neither do ours - to the detriment of many of our threads.

Thanks for coming over to add total crap to our game thread.

I kind of chuckled at Harden as a Top 5 Player too. Does he dismiss two of Giannis, LeBron, Jokic, Embiid, Durant, Steph Curry? I suppose, now that he has the Sixers uniform on, his value doubles?

Harden has a work ethic that’s no where close to Chris Paul’s or LeBron or Kobe etc. These guys spend off time in the gym and working on their game and their body. James Harden spends his off time at strip clubs and rappers home studios.

Keep your head up Wolves fans you have the makings of a above average team if you can somehow find a star to build around. You Have nice complementary players in towns, Russell, and Edwards but you do not have superstars yet. You need at least one to be a 50 win type team. Good luck the rest of the year.

I think Sixers fans are just excited (I’m one of them) so they take any outlet they can to talk about this team right now lol. But I also live in Mpls and have grown to really like this Wolves team.

I was at the game last night and I think this game just highlighted some growing pains the Wolves need to work through. This is a game where Edwards should have shined because Philly tends to struggle with big athletic wings. But I think Ant still has a ways to go in terms finding a consistent foundation for himself offensively. Once he ups his FT rate and settles for fewer jumpers games like this won’t happen.

Vando got the Ben Simmons treatment in this game and will need to find an offensive niche for himself. Even a 10-15 foot floater would do wonders for his game because he’s too important to the team to just get played off the floor.

I wouldn’t panic since it’s the 2nd night of a back to back coming off an emotional win. Plus, the team is still trying to figure out their PnR coverage and it’s not exactly ideal to go up against Harden/Embiid when your still trying to settle into a new defensive style.

Funny how you were demanding those “non superstars” in return for “superstar” Ben Simmons just a couple months ago.

no one in Philly thought Ben was a superstar. Lol

We just understand Morey is a genius and would land one.

Oh you sweet summer child.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
