It's very ironic to hear Rick Sutcliffe broadcasting this game on ESPN. I think I wrote about his clinching '84 performance in an earlier thread. He was so awesome that night against the Padres (and was 16-1 for us after getting traded mid-season from Cleveland, if I recall correctly). He OWNED the inside corner of the plate.

But as I wrote in that earlier thread, it was Lee Smith's locker room screams that are indelibly etched in my memory. It was such an awesome night (b/c we hadn't won anything since 1945). I'll write more about that if we clinch the division this year.
